Cheap option if unable to afford professional ceramic
I’ve been using the Chemical Guys WAC22916 HydroSlick Intense Gloss SiO2 Ceramic Coating Hyperwax on my truck for a full year, and it’s been a reliable choice for boosting shine and protection with minimal fuss. The gel formula applies easily with a microfiber pad—4-5 dime-sized drops per panel, spread thinly, and buffed off after a minute—leaving a deep, glossy finish that makes the paint pop and water bead impressively. After a proper wash and clay bar prep, it took about 2 hours to coat my truck, and the hydrophobic effect held up well through rain, dust, and occasional off-road grime, making washes quicker as dirt slid off easily. The 16 oz bottle, priced around $39.99, is concentrated and lasted me three full applications over the year when used sparingly. It’s a great middle ground for DIYers who want ceramic-like protection without the cost or commitment of a pro coating. However, the “up to a year” durability claim didn’t fully hold up. By month 6-7, the beading and gloss started fading on high-exposure areas like the hood and roof, as some Amazon and Reddit reviews also noted, requiring a reapplication to maintain the effect. The gel can streak if you over-apply or don’t buff quickly enough, which was a learning curve, and thorough surface prep is non-negotiable for good results. Compared to professional ceramic coatings, it’s less durable, and some users prefer spray-on ceramics like Turtle Wax Hybrid for easier application. The bottle’s dropper tip also clogged a few times, which was annoying. For the price and ease, it’s a solid option for maintaining a glossy, protected finish, but expect to reapply every 4-6 months for best results, especially on daily-driven vehicles.

Use a lot of this stuff. Will continue to.
Best speed wax you can get. I use a lot of this stuff. The stupid kit at Walmart cut it in half and dropped price $10. So gotta go to Amazon or auto parts store to get the full sized bottle. It brings life back into paint. Makes good look goodest. 🤣

Its like leaving a coat of liquid glass on your car
I can definitely tell a difference in how shiny my car is after using this product. It is important to read the directions carefully as the application and wipe down time is different than what I am used to. Normally I apply it over the whole car, let the product sit and then go back over it. However, this is different in that you have to apply in linear form, wait for just a little bit, 30s to 5 mins, and then wipe off. Starting out, I waited a little too long and it was hard to get off. As far as viscosity goes, the best reference I can give is that the product is like a teal flimsy jelly substance and a little goes a long way. Application probably took me a little over an hour to do the whole car, not including washing and clay barring. Overall I am satisfied and would recommend to others.

Slick and Shiny!
A few months ago, I re-painted my old Subaru wagon with a Didspade's Blue Iris supershift pearls. Dust from the local dirt roads collects on her, and I wanted to see if the Chemical Guys had something that would make it easier to clean and maintain her fancy paint job. Their ceramic HyperWax is like nothing I've used before. It was tricky to apply, as the jiggly blue clumps of product would rather roll off of the microfiber cloth (and onto the ground) than stay on or absorb into the cloth. Unlike a traditional paste wax, the product also seemed to all dump out across the first wipe, and subsequent wipes laid down very little product. It was also hard to see the areas where product had been applied, and needed to be wiped off, versus areas I already wiped down (the dried product does not have much contrast against my color(s) of paint?).It took me 2 hours to wash the car and apply the HyperWax , and the sun had gone down by the time I was done. I immediately noticed that the treated paint felt as slick as ice! I imagine that the many hours of sanding and polishing of the clear coat must be contributing to the extreme slickness effect. The next morning, when I saw the car sitting in the early sun, I could not believe how much more the paint popped! After wiping off the overnight dust with a California Duster (the dust wiped off with zero resistance), I took some photos of the freshly treated paint job. Even though a photo cannot express the actual dynamic sparkle and shimmer of billions of light-splitting facets reflecting into your eyes, the pictures I posted hint at the immense storm of delicious optical brilliance that now radiates from the color shifting paint. It's been 2 days, and I could not be more satisfied with the visual enhancement and the super slick feel from CG's HyperWax.I wonder how long these awesome effects will last?

Terrible not all chemical guys products created equal no protection and too expensive
This does make a glossy shine but it does NOT protect the paint. Three times now I meticulously cleaned my hood and used this treatment on my truck and have had water spots stains the next day. The last time I waxed it I had some birds crap on the hood with berries mixed in. Every spot on the hood left a stain that is incredibly difficult to get off and is now a bonded contaminant. I will have to clay bar it off.Absolutely no protection and not all of their products are great. Very disappointing especially considering the price and that this offers little to no protection for paint finishes! Carnauba wax does the job and I am not impressed with this ceramic product that is supposedly cutting edge.

Not as good as i hoped
Not sure if I got a bad bottle or not but it’s like jell-O coming out of the bottle. Then when you wipe it off it’s rolling and creating little beads and it’s an absolute nightmare to get off. Not to mention I’ve waxed my truck before and a bottle would slide right off the hood with zero effort. Using this stuff it would slide but not as fast. Idk how long it will hold up but for 40 bucks i expect it to be a lot better. Might just stick to the wax if it don’t last a long time
