Simply corking! But small-
This thing is a freaking piece of art. It’s smaller that I thought it would be. Barely bigger than my hand and doesn’t weigh as much as i thought. Which are both strikes against it. For the price it’s at it should be more substantial but have the same narrow point. Because that’s really all you’re paying for with this. It even comes with a honing stone for sharpening the tip if you need to. And it works absolutely amazingly at cutting styrene plastics.

Great craftsmanship and it came with a sharpener too!!
I am happy that the scriber showed up finally lol. It looks awesome....I will be very happy when I get to use it on my next model. I really appreciate that Hobby Japan did a great job getting it here.

Important tool for your bench, but...
...the tip bent the first time I used it (re-scribing some panel lines). I have several scribing tools and have been building models for decades, so this wasn't my first rodeo...in other words, I wasn't abusing it. I bought a second one of these from another source, and it hasn't bent...so maybe mine was just unlucky off the assembly line. I do like these...the tip is very fine, and the shape of the handle makes it easy to hold.
