Just opened it and tried on a piece of 48mm plastic waste pipe, just crushed it, maybe will be better on alcathene. Rubbish on plastic anyway!!

Poorly made, won't cut pvc pipe
Poorly made. Was ok to cut pex or soft hose etc. But when tested on pvc piping it crushed or broke the pipe. Then the mechanism that releases the blade failed leaving it shut. I returned item and bought a better quality pipe cutter of similar variety with which does the job properly. A night and day difference

Pipe just shatters
I bought the cutters for a job with 2" UPVC waste pipe, it deforms then shatters...not what I hoped for
