Great device! Clears up a whole mess of chargers from my wall.
I have been wanting a charger for a long time. I have purchased Anker products before and liked how they worked so I took a chance on this. My SO has one that plugs directly into the wall. It works great, but i wanted something that I could sit on my desk or nightstand to charge the myriad of devices it seems I have. I received this item promptly and well packaged. One thing I have learned is that Anker takes pride in presentation. I have never received anything from them that looks like it got pulled off a shelf, stuffed in a plastic bag and shipped out. You can see from the photos that is was well packaged. The device itself is tiny. just slightly larger than the 5 USB charging ports on it. I have a photo of it sitting next to a pad of sticky notes for comparison. It is not heavy, yet feels solid. It has a soft touch black coating which feels nice in the hand, but as you can see from the photos it is a finger print magnet and that is after i tried cleaning it up a bit. I dont know anything from anything when it comes to electricity except you should not really play with it or touch a 9 volt battery to your tongue. It charges my devices reasonably quick. I dont know if its quick charge capable with samsung, my Note 4 doesnt seem to quick charge anymore so I cant tell you about this. I posted a photo of the charging using Ampere app. As you can see it is all over the place in mA but the voltage stayed the same at about 4.2. What that means, I dont know. It works. It works well. I charge my phones, tablets, and bluetooth speakers and i charge them all at once from this little guy and it seems to work just fine. In summary, if you have to charge more than one thing at a time, get this. Its a wonderful device that works just as its intended and what more can you ask for. I highly recommend this, and in general recommend Anker products. Will buy again, probably several times for family members. I did not receive this device free for testing or review(lucky jerks), so this is unbiased. Any questions feel free to ask.

Excellent quality has earned Anker a new brand-loyal customer
I went into this purchase with a healthy amount of skepticism developed over the course of years of disappointment with all types of USB chargers. I thought that it would be good for the price, even if it wasn't as good as advertised. I'm pleased to say that I couldn't be happier. Context: I've used my Anker 5-Port Desktop Usb Charger with PowerIQ Technology, 40-Watt, Black at home and on the road for over a year now (Nov 2014 to Jan 2016). Last month, I bought another Anker PowerPort 5 (40W 5-Port USB Charging Hub) Multi-Port USB Charger for iPhone 6s / 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Galaxy S6 / Edge / Plus, Note 5 and More (Black) as a gift for a family member who admired my old one on a trip, and a Anker PowerPort 10 (60W 10-Port USB Charging Hub) Multi-Port USB Charger for Apple iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge and More- Retail Packaging-(Black) to add convenient charging to my home bar. Positive notes: + My old 5-port has held up beautifully over the last year. The 10-port seems to be of the same construction quality, so I expect the same from it. + The AC input on the unit is a standard non-polarized "figure-eight" female connector. These maintain their connection through friction and this one hasn't shown any signs of getting looser with age. If you lose the included AC cord or just want one of a different length, you have plenty of options available. e.g. Ziotek Notebook Power Cord, C7 Figure-eight Plug, 1ft. , HDE 2 Pin Non-Polarized Universal AC Cord Figure-Eight Laptop Charger Printer Power Supply 5 ft Cable , and maybe SF Cable, 2 Prong Right Angle Plug Adapter, USA IEC 60320-C7 receptacle to NEMA 1-15P . They're standard enough that you should be able to find one at any local hardware store in a pinch. + The USB outputs all provide quick charging to any device I've plugged into them. + The device never gets overly warm and doesn't make any noise that I can hear (with one exception -- see the negative note below). I'm very sensitive to this so it wouldn't get more than 3 stars with any detectable sound. Negative note: - The one device that didn't work out very well was the Qi charging dock that shipped with the Google Nexus 4 ( LG Mobile WCP400 Wireless Charging Orb Nexus 4 , I think). The dock charged the phone correctly but there was an audible buzz coming from the device while it the dock was connected, irrespective of whether it was charging. Unknown: * There are some important electrical characteristics in USB chargers (conversion efficiency, output voltage, current, noise, ripple, sag, etc.) that I don't have all the equipment to test. I've come to expect quality from the brand but I can't speak to these points. Ken Shirriff has a very thorough analysis of a handful of USB chargers that explains these characteristics in detail.

Reliable and diverse charging port for all your charging needs
With so many electronic devices in our household, the wires were entangling us and monopolizing all of our outlets. After much research, I decided to roll the die and get the Anker USB charger to try out what needed to be charged here: 1. Two Apple 6 iPhones with the small usb charging pin 2. Multiple wireless speakers that have an identical charger (audio jack-type pin) 3. An older iPod Classic with the larger usb charging pin 4. An iPod Mini with a small usb charging pin This model has 5 ports, and I used all 5 of them, hooking up all of my above named devices individually and then simultaneously to see how the unit worked. Initially the older iPod with the larger charging pin that hooks up to it would not charge the unit. All other ports worked fabulously whether charging one item at a time or multiple items together. On a whim, I rearranged the jacks and moved the iPod cable to one of the outside (edge of the unit) ports. Voila! Now my old reliable iPod Classic would charge as well! What a gift! So happy to replace all of the dangling cables from our outlets -- and free up those limited outlets for other uses. This is a great charger that has worked religiously for the time I've had it (with the one adjustment) without any issue. My wireless speakers are charged effortlessly and charging our iPhones is done in a snap, whether together or separately. I should have bought this years ago!

If you have more than one thing to charge at a time, worth the investment.
TL;DR - More convenient than an array of "wall warts"; comes with mounting tape for hiding it in/on/under furniture; charges all my devices (at once) fast. I ordered 2 of these PowerPort 5 chargers, one after the other. I originally got one because I have a small "battlestation" (gaming laptop setup) I keep near my side of the bed (yeah, it's not healthy and blah blah blah, besides the point) and as much as I love having to run power strips and everything else... I don't. Add in there are usually 2 Kindle Fire devices, an iPhone and an Android phone as well as a portable charger (I sometimes get stuck away from power sources for a time) and there's a lot of stuff to plug in! Enter this charger. For starters, it uses a standard (well, standard US, okay) polarized 2 prong power cord that leads to the charger, so no worrying about a plug in transformer eating space. The charger itself is pretty compact appearing to be just wide and tall enough for the 5 USB ports and about two or three times deep (about the size of two phones stacked on each other). It comes with mounting tape which is super handy; I used the included tape to hide one behind my nightstand (ports to the side so I can plug in) and the other under a small end table (with retractable USB cords, one with USB Micro connector and one with an Apple Lightning connector) and neither have fallen (yet). The charger in the bedroom usually charges between 2 to 4 devices at a time over the course of the night. During this charge cycle neither Kindle complains of low charger amperage (which they will do if one attempts to use them while the device is being charged on a low amperage charger); to date none of the devices charged on the charger have had issues with not being charged or taking longer than expected. Considering this charger is about the cost of 2 decent plug in transformer type chargers, it's more than worth the investment for us considering how many things we have to charge at a time. It's also proven to be a convenience for guests with the one in the living room (no more mysterious left-over chargers breeding around our house after a get together). I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has more than one thing to plug in at a time or would like a nice hidden convenience charger for company.

Excellent Charger, Doesn't have any indicator lights
I travel a bit, and I have a couple devices that I need to charge. Occasionally I'll have a companion who also needs to charge their devices, so with this device, I'll have a couple extra ports left. It feels very well built, it's reasonable in size, and I can get cheap cables for it anywhere in the world. I always make sure that I use chargers that are UL Certified, to ensure quality; this is advertised as such, but I couldn't verify it personally. Chargers with fixed prongs add a lot of bulk to the wall, so they sometimes won't fit behind nightstands, or can be really bulky if paired with an international socket adapter. This has a detachable cable which is a nice convenience. My biggest gripe with this product, is that there is no way of knowing if it has power, as there is no indicator LEDs of any kind. If for some reason your device is not charging, it makes it a lot harder to diagnose where the issue is. If the light was on, then the issue would be between the charger and mobile device; if the light was off, the issue is between the the charger and the wall socket.

Great value for a quality multi-port charger!
A few months ago, I searched for a multi-port usb charger that could rapid-charge my iPhone and iPad simultaneously. I had purchased a multi-port charger for myself previously, without really understanding how the wattage impacts the charge speed when more than one device (of any kind) is plugged in at the same time. So, my first goal was to find a charger with sufficient 'heft'. 40W is more than enough to handle an iPhone and iPad, and I was confident that the Anker PowerPort would do the job in this respect. My second objective was to avoid chargers that require you to plug your iPhone in one port, the iPad in another, while remaining ports are essentially useless if you do not have other types of devices or they will only generate a reduced wattage. Anker's PowerPort claimed to have an IQ that automatically determines what your device needs, so any port could charge any device. Aside from the wattage, this is really what sold me on the PowerPort. Since my first purchase, I've been more than happy: my devices rapidly charge across all ports and at the same time. Plus, the PowerPort is solidly constructed, and the USB connectors are firmly in place (no wiggling as you connect the USB cable). Taken together, when I found myself needing another multiport charger, I immediately purchased a second PowerPort. Both are working perfectly as I write this review. FWIW, Anker appears to be a company committed to delivering a quality product backed by a commitment to customer service. I interacted with them about another product, and my positive experience only reinforced how I felt about buying the PowerPorts. And, no, I'm not affiliated with Anker in any way. I'm just a typical consumer who is weary of buying cheaply made electronics from here-today-gone-tomorrow companies.

When 2 phones turns to 12, turn to this Power port!
See, this product has many many uses. Mine are a bit odd to say the least, but still apply to the many uses. I have over 12 personal phones. Yes, you heard me, 12. One of the things that I do is I run rewards programs on my mobile phones, and when one phone turns into two, and two turns into 5, and then 5 turns into 12... you get the idea here. Now here comes the problem.... HOW AM I GOING TO PLUG ALL OF THESE IN?! The answer is this guy here. This golden tool, takes my already full surge protectors, and man does it turn them into a mobile device power hub! After my experience with the first 5 phones on this guy, the phones never died, the power supply was small and discreet, easily transportable, and just a high quality product. Another great thing to mention is the price you pay for it. It's $20 with prime shipping, so you get a great bang for your buck, and it comes in only 2 days. Although you may not be in my position, it's great for the whole family! You can have everyone in a nuclear family's phone charged all on one port! (Sorry extended families! You need two!) The support it has to charge both mobile phones and tablets at a high rate makes it great for anyone to use. Overall, this product has changed my ability to charge all 12 of my phones, so I can stay afloat in life. Thank you for your high quality products Anker.
