Survives Texas Heat
I have a coop with a northwest facing window and southeast facing back door, both of which I now fully open in the summer. The summer of 2021 I had no fan installed and kept the back door closed. The chickens survived but it got HOT inside. I’m talking 110 on a 100 degree day.In the summer of 2022, I built a wire gate for the back coop door and bought this fan. I set it up exhaust style in the top of my coop to try and pull the hot air out during the 100+ temp days in 2022. I created a screen cover to help protect the wiring since I recognized it was backwards from the expected installation. I only used the solar power so it ran from sun up to sun down. It improved the temp inside from 110 on a 100 degree day to around 103. It easily lasted all summer until a predator tore up the screen and ripped out the wires trying to get into the coop in the fall. Luckily it held and the chickens were safe. I dismantled the fan portion and covered the hole for the winter, but left the solar panel screwed into the roof.I purchased the new model this spring. I appreciate the addition of a metal wire cover to help protect the fan blades. I installed it as an intake this year to see how it worked in comparison to the set up last year. Today clocked 104 outside and it stayed 104 in the coop. I’ll consider that an improvement over last year.Recommendation: for me, running it as an intake (since the fan is in the shade in the afternoon) worked better than as an exhaust fan. I would buy this again.Pros: good value for the price, lots of power for such a small fan, strong wire protection of the bladesCon: the solar panel from last year didn’t survive the winter so I had to use the new one from the kit. This year I’ll either bring the new one I got in the kit inside or expect to buy a replacement next spring.

The included battery cables do NOT mate with the fan
I plugged the fan into the solar panel, put it in the sun and got no movement. So I tried to plug the fan into the cigarette lighter cable to test the fan from my car battery but found that the fan’s cable can NOT mate because they BOTH have MALE adapters. They are not mated as the ad says under the “Use of cable” paragraph. Then I noticed the last picture of this ad shows the cigarette cable plugged into the solar panel. WHAT THE.... Why would you plug the cigarette lighter cable into the solar panel. The included alligator cable also has a male adapter. So because I expected the fan to be able to run off of a battery via the cigarette or alligator cable, but it can not, I will be returning it. I can not say if the fan works off the solar panel in full sun as it is slightly overcast today. But I can say that it does not work at all on an overcast day, nor off the provided 12v cables.

Works well
There is no easy way to install the solar cell.

Amazing service
UPDATE: I received a message from the seller out of the blue offering a full refund. They actually read the review and reached out to me! I changed my review from 3 stars to 4 and I'll buy a replacement fan. This is the second one of these fans I've bought for my greenhouse. The first is still working fine, but this one doesn't. I wish I'd kept the box so I could send it back. It barely moves any air, and more than once I've had to push the blades to get them to start moving. That defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

Not Very Powerful
Product works but the solar panel has to be in direct sun to work. The fan motor is week therefore the RPM is low and pushes barley any air. You could not use this even for a single person tent, you might as well use a hand held battery operated fan. It was suggested that it could be used for a chicken coop, hence the reason for the purchase. Only if you have one chicken and it lives in a cardboard BOX!!! Also it does not have a mounting bracket or anyplace to DIY one. Don't waste your time unless you are creating a diorama.

Excellent Sun = Excellent Fan!
At the risk of stating the obvious--the fan's output is proportional to the amount of direct sun it receives. Some reviewers mention that the output is not that great, and I would agree if it was a cloudy day. However, in full sunlight, this fan can really move some air! My daughter and I built a small hoop greenhouse and we use this fan to vent cooler air in. It does a fantastic job and we are very pleased with it as it keeps the greenhouse from overheating. Prior to the fan install, we would often have plants that wilted because it was too hot in there. Things are so much better now with the fan. Obviously, on days when the sun is not that bright the fan is slower, but then again, the need for the fan is less as well. So it all-in-all works out perfectly!

VERY easy to install
I duct-taped the solar panel to the ceiling of my greenhouse, hung the ~4" square fan on a string from it's pre-drilled holes and it began to work within seconds. It's not a gale force wind, of course. My greenhouse is 6' x 8', and I will order another because one isn't enough to keep good air flow, but for the price, it's well worth it.One point: It doesn't seem to store energy, just expend it. So if the sun isn't shining for 10 minutes, the fan doesn't work for 10 minutes.
