Awesome. Very slight chlorine taste if you're looking for ...
I've used these on there continents for almost a decade, and I can't see why anyone would prefer a filter. Taste: Awesome. Very slight chlorine taste if you're looking for it. In fact, it eliminated a weird, sulfurous smell that my friend's filtered water had. Ease of use: If you can operate an eye-dropper, you can use this product. Takes 15 minutes to begin working, but I usually just finish off my water before treating a new batch, and don't think to drink till it's ready anyway. Anecdote/Effectiveness: Used this to treat stagnant, turbid water in a South African desert and came away unscathed. + Tastes good + Elimiates odors and off flavors + Stronger oxidant (sterilizer) than chlorine tablets or iodine + Far smaller and lighter than a filter (yes, even your Sawyer) + Faster than most filters for 2+ Liter batches + Kills viruses that pass through filters + Penetrates membranes and biofilms that chlorine and iodine cannot - Takes 15 minutes - Expires (couple year shelf life)

Best Water Treatment Solution for Backcountry Backpacking
Purchased for a 4 day hiking trip through Yosemite National Park. Our group had a collection of different water filtration methods including pumps, and steripens. The Aquamira drops were by far the best water treatment solution. Pros: 1) Compact and light - great for backcountry backpacking. We kept the bottles in an easily accessible side pocket on one of our packs, so no significant unpacking was required when it was time to treat water. 2) Works quickly 3) Has little to no taste effect on the water 4) Can treat large volumes of water simultaneously 5) One pack (2 bottles) can treat a large volume of water - 30 gallons. Was plenty for our 4 day excursion. 6) Kills pathogens better than chlorine or iodine Cons: None We used a one quart nalgene bottle to treat the water.

Works great. Haven't been sick while using these in India, Central, and South America
I have used these on many trips to developing countries where the water from the tap is less than clean and you can't trust the bottled water. (Not to mention the waste from plastic water bottles loitering the countryside and clogging landfills...). For example , the tap water in Leh, Ladakh was a greenish brown color for spring snow melt and rivers being very high (and probably yak and sheep feces from upstream, is my suspicion). I trust these drops enough that I filled my water bottle from that, waited 30 minutes, and drank it. Did that for 4 days before my trek departed, and 3 days after it returned. No problems. There are some not quite perfect bits, though. E.g.- it is a little hard to count the drops by headlamp in a tent with the wind howling and gent shaking to get exactly 8 drops from each bottle. Or sometimes I forget about the drops once mixed and leave the sitting for too long in the cap for an hour; since the instructions say to wait 5 minutes, I am not sure what happens if you wait too long. (The color starts to fade after about 20 minutes so not sure if the effectiveness does too.) If I mess up I just dump them out and mix a new batch, not a big deal. Overall I would say they are 100% effective and no bad taste. I don't mind the iodine taste from the tablets I used before discovering these, but these have advantages in effectiveness and less time before you can drink the water.

Tastes good easy to use
Used this when I traveled to Tonga. Very helpful. Water tasted better and it didn't have a chlorine/ chemical taste. The only downside which really isn't bad is waiting. But with any cleaner you have to wait. 5 min to mix the two A and B solutions together. Then just pour it in your water container. I adjusted my dose from the 10 drops each to just 7.5 drops because I have a 750ml water bottle as apposed to the 1 liter on the instructions. And waited the 30 min to drink it. Portable, easy and tastes good. I like that it comes with a little mixing cap. Great product and will kill cryptosporidium if you wait long enough.

Light, Convenient, Awesome for Backpacking
I used these while backpacking for a couple of weeks in the Sierras and they're awesome! You have to wait five minutes before adding the mixed drops to the water and I actually liked that. It gave me a chance to just sit and enjoy the stream or lake where I was gathering water. Purifying water just became part of the rhythm of the day. The taste is barely perceptible, and adds just a hint of tartness to the water. I've used a Sawyer filter previously, but like the drops better in that I knew they'd always work and they have no issues with plugging up or the bag breaking (both of which have happened in the past with the Sawyer). Drinking water straight from a clean source will always be the most enjoyable but there aren't many sources on the main trails that are totally trustworthy so these drops are my go-to now.
