3 foot strip does the job.
The light isn't too difficult to install, but it has to be wired to an electrical cable. In my case, that was easy because I already had power to that location from our old light strip. The light has to be opened up by prying the cover off. I have a screwdriver with a nice wide but thin blade that worked well. A small chisel would be perfect for this. Once open the wiring was easily done and the strip was mounted with a few measurements, and a drill gun made quick work of installing the screws that hold the light to the underside of my kitchen cabinet. The only thing I didn't like was my fault. I didn't understand that I needed a dimmer for it if I wanted that capability. (It says dimmable on the box. Duh! :-) )It was not a big deal. I have a dimmer hooked up now and it does flicker somewhat when dimmed really low, but works better if just a little brighter. That isn't the light's fault though. Overall, my wife and I are thrilled to finally have a better light over our countertop. Since that light provides light to our living room as well, the dimming feature is a must. This light is BRIGHT when not dimmed.

Great under cabinet LED light! Love it.
This LED lamp was the perfect addition to my condo which did not have any under cabinet lighting. I placed it dead center of the sink, whereu I had a small shelf and no cabinet of course), drilled 2 holes, bought a nice 3 wire black extension cord, hooked the light up and tucked the cord in neatly, securing it with wire staples from the hardware store. The light is PERFECT in the evening and at light to light up the kitchen counter and floor while not disturbing the living room connected to it. The overhead lights were too much, the microwave lights wayyyy too dim, this one is perfect and the correct Kelvin color for the evening. Not a blue white that I use overhead to cook and cut with. If your remotely handy this LED light is a quick install and priced right. I’m probably buying a couple more for my laundry area and other areas like a closet. The extension cord idea makes the light go where you need it, if you don’t permanently mount it. Plus no junction box work either. So add $10 to the price of it for the extension cord and wire staples. That will be your total expense. Built in switch is exactly what I needed also. I control it alone. Bright enough to do dishes and make a drink, but low enough to not disturb my movie nights. A+++

Nice light but cheap fixture
Bought this light to go under my cabinets above my sink. The install was super easy since I was replacing an old halogen fixture. The mounting options could be better. There are only mount points on the top side of the fixtures and the screws are just long enough that they will go right through the cabinets. So i would recommend checking the screw length and either adding washers or shorter screws. The build quality is fairly low but this is a cheap fixture the body is aluminum that you have to bend to fully assemble and the light cover is a cheap plastic. this inst that big of a deal since the light level is good and no one over 5'6" will ever see it but would be careful putting it any where super obvious and visible.

Works well
Have had this light for almost two years. It's in our walk in pantry. I have it hooked up to a sensor switch. It's on at least two dozen times a day. It's just as bright as the first day. No flashing LEDS.

Great lights awesome price!
These under cabinet lights are excellent. My situation was difficult as I was replacing old halogen/xenon light fixtures that wouldn’t work with just LED replacement bulbs and certainly were not dimmable. Anyway I tried a couple other options and just were all wrong - blaring light or flickers when dimmed or the wires didn't coincide with any knock-outs (see picture). These however are perfect. Light is nice and with a good dimmer switch allow a full range from very bright to just enough evening light. Super easy to install as well, enough knockouts, enough mounting hole locations etc - to the point of me not understanding why some folks struggled with installation. Well OK twisting my 67 year oil body under the cabinet was a good yoga work out :)

Bright and easy to install.
We built our home back in 2001, 22 years ago. It came with several built-in kitchen under cabinet fluorescent fixtures. The bulbs were the T5 kind in various lengths, 24 inches, 21 inches and 12 inches. All was well until recently when a ballast went out. I could not find a replacement ballast due the old style, so I decided to replace them with new LED fixtures. I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t like to mix things up. I want the tires on a vehicle to all be the same, for example. Anyway, these fixtures looked good and had good reviews so I ordered several of the 4,000K, cool white ones. I learned that I could have kept the old fixtures, removed the ballasts, done a little rewiring and used LED tubes. I preferred to have new ones with the LED strips.I started them yesterday, Saturday, Sept. 9 and finished them Sunday morning. I did not go to church as I had a heart attack 2 weeks ago on Aug. 26, I kid you not. Total time from flipping the breaker, gathering my tools, removing the old fixtures, installing the new fixtures and returning my tools would be about 4.5 hours. Not bad for a 71-year-old man with Lupus and a recent heart attack survivor.Point being: they are not a problem to install. If I can do it, you can do it.One piece of advice I will give… rather than measure from the back of the under cabinet so the fixture is straight, I cut 2 small blocks of wood the right thickness and used Scotch tape to attach them to the back of the fixture. I held the fixture against the back and the blocks kept it correct and used the supplied screws. I used a B&D battery screwdriver to put the screws in and did not need to drill a pilot hole. Blocks were then removed and on to the next one. All necessary hardware was included with them.I like the fact that they each have an on/off switch, left in the “on” position, as a wall switch controls them. But I can turn them all off but one to use as a night light. They are bright and above all - my wife likes them.
