All Clear ahead!
Definitely much clearer on the eyes. I purchased a cheaper one from Harbor Freight. It fit well and everything, but the plastic shield had a greenish tinge to it and even working up close to my wood working the images were somewhat blurred. Hey i understand its very cheap made in China, but it stated, clear face shield. As my mom always said you get what you pay for. I tried to cut corners. Not this time! This unit is terrific. Has instructions for use and putting together, and its clear! I mean clear, no color tinging or blurred images.Learned a good lesson here. By from a good named brand like 3M. For me this product is great for the price! I would definately buy this again!

3M Face Shield.
The 3M face shield is packaged separately from the headgear, both of which are made of sturdy material. Take a little care in assembling the face shield to the headgear, and do not force anything into place and end up breaking the plastic parts. Don't toss your face shield onto the ground or a bed of nails and be surprised if it gets all scratched up. Treat it like a pair of expensive Oakley sunglasses if you want the shield to stay pristine and clear. LOLTo assemble the American Way, without reading any instructions or looking at diagrams, simply align one of the holes on the edge of the face shield to the blue star shaped stud on the inside of the head gear. Move the shield up and down until it catches and locks onto the stud. Do the same for the other side of the face shield. Now the final part is to get the open slot on the top center of the face shield to lock into the headgear. Notice the groove on the inside edge of the blue forehead piece...the top edge of the shield fits into this groove. So grab the edge of the blue forehead protector with with your left hand, with the outside of the face shield against your left forearm. Now pull your left arm back and place the bottom edge of the face shield against your muscular chest. Pull it gently against your muscular chest...while at the same time, use your right thumb to pull the center blue tab away from the face shield so the open slot could snap into the tab. All in 15-20 seconds or faster if you trying out for the Guinness Book of World Record.Adjust the plastic band on the back of the helmet to fit your head comfortably, the head size is embossed on the gray head band. To move the shield up and down without it popping it off your head, just place one hand over the top head strap and use the other hand to push shield up or pull it down. As stated by another reviewer, when you tilt your head slightly down, the edge of the oversize shield will protect your neck. On me, the edge will touch about 3 inches belong the center of my collar bone. There is a large black perforated rubber band on the forehead to keep the headgear from moving around. The shield is big enough to wear goggles and glasses underneath, which will act as double protection for the eyes. I will be using mine when I grind the sidewalk edges that have lifted up.

solid face protection
great shield that has saved my face and eyes from flying debris while weed eating. Gives me an extra sense of security while doing multiple chores that could cause flying debris. The rubber padding came off and I had to glue it back in place. But the head band is sizable and I have been able to fit over ear protection on without any issues.

good shield
I got this after I scared myself during a lapse in proper procedure while using my tablesaw. The shield gives me feeling of safety during my now hypervigilance in observing safe procedure. It fits well, has never fogged up, and provides good visibility while working. I do feel it heat up around my face if I have it down for very long but no fogging. There seems to be a lot of adjustablity. I am a fairly small sized female but had no problem in getting it to fit my head snuggly and comfortably. I did struggle a bit when I had to attach the visor to the cap. It comes in two pieces. It took a lot of force to get it to snap in. I think I ended up getting it positioned and putting all my weight on it and then it snapped in. I have not received any blows to the face while wearing it but it seems very strong and gives good throat coverage as well.

Works as advertised.
Mistakenly purchased this model. I use it for cleaning the toilet to protect from splashes. Much sturdier than the thin plastic face shields.

a cheap alternative for protection vs pandemic flu
there was a scare about h1n1 last fall. instead of going over the top with a full gasmask it was almost as protective to get some n95 nose and mouth covers a cheap pairof painter's goggles, earplugs and a disposable shower hairnet that covers the earsand for extra safety a cheap clear face sheild. i would up using the n95 mask andpainters goggles to go to the supermarket but by january the flu and vaccine issuewas a non issue. we were lucky this time. it cost about 25 dollars us onstead of100 plus for a decent gasmask and possibly being qiestioned by security personnel.the improvised n95 breather and painter goggles got a few stares but the improvisedgear was not alarming as a gas mask and provided 95% of the protection from potentialcoughs and sneezes. the face sheild hasnt been used vs a deadly virus yet, thankfully.however it came in handy when dealing with rat traps. i protected my face againsta potential rat attack. i felt confident about setting traps and releasing them. imight risk a scar on my hands but who the heck would risk a face scar from a rat?i think if riot squads use clear face masks to protect from chemical and other risksand factory workers and even dental assistants use them why not me? one of thoseminor investments in protection that you hope you never need but are glad youhave on hand if you do. its not just risking face scars, its eye and mouth protection.for 15 bucks you have emergency gear and confidence in dealing with other face risks.

Different use
This works great as a bug shield when riding on a boat after dark. No more gnats to the eyeballs or dead gnats on my face. They may be small but they pack a punch at high speed. Now I can see where we're going and don't have to worry about the bugs. This shield protects my face very well and so far has been easy to clean. Also, easy to assemble and good quality material.
