Basically Required in WSU Saxaphone lab
The Maiden Voyage Abersol book is unlike any other. I could talk about its sleek design and fancy cover but that won't matter because like any music textbook or Omni book you'll probably tear the cover off by throwing it across the room in a practice induced fit of rage or it'll fall off from regular wear and tear. The Abersol book is well worth the price tag because it contents include an accurate transcription of the tunes, chord changes for every measure, and written chords in the solo sections of songs to help the individual learn to play within the chord changes. One issue I have with this book, however, is the backing track. I've only used the backing track a few times however if I recall correctly all the songs are backed in Bb whereas I'm playing on an Eb saxophone so I typically play within that key. The book, however, has each song in a plethora of popular keys.I would rate this book as a 4.5 star in my opinion because of the backing track and a few things that aren't very clear in the transcriptions.

Cool pieces
My teacher recommended this to improve my soling as it had the scales written right on the page. I did find it easier to solo while kind of looking at the scales and seeing them written helped me add in the 9th/ 13th which I wasn’t doing before. Cute play along tracks too. Only wish it was easier to get an MP3 of the CD tracks but this was a fun way to pass the time during quarantine.

This is one of the best ways to get into Jazz
This is jazz at a slow pace that a beginner can learn from and enjoy. If you can read music and make use of the back beats, you can play along with some real classics. Personally, I've learned the head to Watermelon Man, Solar Flair, Impressions, and Herbie Hancock's Maiden Voyage. The CD is great, but what's better is the actual bands which have recorded themselves playing these songs on Youtube. Makes for a great experience. It was recommended to me by two separate music teachers, one a professor.

You get a quality, straight to the point book
Exactly what I payed for and some things I didn't expect as a bonus, it's great that it has all the different keys and chords for soloing.

Buy this after Volume 1!
This is the best book for beginning improvisors. I have all of my students buy Volume 1, then this one. The tunes are easily to handle (Summertime, Blues in Bb, etc...) and the tempos are pretty reasonable. There's lots of good information in the text. A good overall introduction to the world of improvisation.

ペーパーバックでこの値段!
知り合いに良い楽譜だからと勧められて購入。内容は申し分ないのは分かっていたが、質感がどうにも悪い。使っていくウチにボロくなっていくにしても、その速度は“秒”かも知れない。

Great jazz book
Good book but beware which sax tunes you are playing - look for the E flat / B flat in the titles
