This is one of those situations where I have to give five stars not because the product is absolutely amazing, but because it works way better than I expected given its very low price.I use this for work in a woodshop. It is not as precise as any kind of metal shop tooling, but this is a woodshop, so that's ok. Truth is, most of the loss in precision has to do with the fact that I'm using this by hand instead of in a controlled setup.I'm quite happy with the quality of its build and its accuracy, especially for the price paid.

This is my favorite making gauge. I like the pencil line, instead of just a cut or scratch. The markings are easy enough to read in both metric and standard. The metals are all well finished, heavy and smooth. The long rollers are easy to remove. The pencil and scribe are swappable, and the measurements remain true.

Nicely made with the exception of the business end where the attachments screw on. The very very small raised portion had a burr and was not true to the shaft. At first I thought a quality issue with the bearing in the cutting wheel, but on second inspection, it was the burr. I managed to get it true enough with a fine india stone so it runs almost straight, but as it shipped it would not have been usable to create a straight line inset from the edge of a piece of timber, thus 1 star revoked. Otherwise nicely presented, nice finish on the shaft and face, wheels turn freely, accessories nicely packaged, etc.

This interesting marking gauge has multiple functions. I purchased it to scribe a line on an arc ( curved surface ) & it does it nicely. Pencil leads are supplied so you can pencil a line or use the cutters to score the wood. I am optimistic it will hold up to my hobby useage. I will report back if any problems.

For the price, I feel this is a well-made tool! Nice variety of marking implements, which allow for the use of custom marking tools if you prefer something other than what comes with it. Overall, fit and finish are very clean and precise. I like the simple packaging of a two-part tube, too!

I used this the other day on a project. I had to get a magnifying glass to see the markings because the marking do not have black paint on them as shown in picture. I used a ruler to set the position. the thumb screw is not very solid. I would not purchase this again.

I like the bearing side of this marking guage for doing curved boarders. The other more expensive marking guage just has the one flat end for straight work, but this one has a lot more features for less money and similar quality. Between the lead option, a fixed knife, and a rotating knife, a flat end, and one for curves: this guage has a lot of uses.

Built nice just 2 complaints, hard to read and (this one is on me) the wheel is 2". I didn't pay attention to the size. It's a tad large for my use. I'm sure I could have modified the readout but the size of the wheel was a bit much. All in all, I returned it and got a refund for another gauge from the same company.
