Useful and practical without being over-simplified
In a field sometimes plagued by half-understanding and over-simplification, this text on spatial disorientation ("SD," a leading cause of aircraft mishap) is a worthwhile contribution. The text is strong on its practical focus to aviation without repeating the misconceptions often found in the more general human factors of aviation works. The treatment of the history of SD at the beginning is particularly interesting, and the contributors such as Cheung, Gawron, and Braithwaite make typically strong entries. A complicated topic treated in a logical and organized fashion without dumbing-down. Nice balancing act!
