I purchased this to re-do our stairs as the alternative was just too expensive. We have open backed stairs and when we moved in we had originally thought we would have them re carpeted. We obtained a number of quotes and just couldn't justify the expense. The original stairs are wood and so we removed the old carpet, re-varnished them and then applied the treads.I was a little concerned as there weren't any instructions, however, we had no issues. We fitted them as follows:We measured the steps to determine where they should sit then marked the position (we used masking tape)Wiped the steps to remove dust and debris.Removed the tape from the curved edge and pushed firmly into place.Removed the tape from the opposite edge and pressed down.The stairs we fine to use immediately, we have had them in place for around 4 weeks and they have been perfect.They are nice to walk on and have required no maintenance other than a gentle brush to keep them clean. Both our cat and 18 month old daughter have been fine with them.

Arrived dead on time. Surprisingly compact package although this was inside another vast box Amaxon used to deliver two items at once,Two things that aren't apparent from the image / description:1) The small version of the image gives the impression there is a darker border, but the whole piece is the same colour. If you look at the zoomed in version, it's clear this is just the way the light has hit things2) The front lip of the tread is a backed by a pretty sturdy plastic former keeping things in place; there's an adhesive strip along the full length of this former, and a further adhesive patch towards the centre of the semicircle. I don't think there's much chance of it going anywhere accidentally3) The texture gives an excellent grip on the upper surface,One word of warning; if you're trying them in place before sticking them down, don't be tempted to trot up and down on them without being *very* careful; before they're stuck down, they're pretty mobile.

I waited for a week to write this review to see how they settled. They look fantastic and have been the solution to old, worn out and neglected stairs. They take minutes to apply, but I would recommend the use of no nails too for the curved flap, just to secure them for safety. We have a lot of people in our house and they hoover up well. They are hard under bare feet but we prefer this look to carpet and it looks like it will be easier to wash when the time comes.

Update to review posted below: The seller contacted me directly and offered a full refund in recognition of the issues. It is refreshing to receive such a high level of customer concern and therefore adjusted my rating accordingly. Additionally, after almost 5 months of use in a heavy traffic household the treads are still as new, and seem very hard wearing.Original review:The treads arrived quickly and well packaged, and they look great when fitted. However the quality is lacking.Each of the treads had separated from the front forming strip in the same place (approx 5cm) and I will need to fix with contact adhesive. Unfortunately this manufacturing fault was not seen until after fitting.Please also be aware that the adhesive strip is only on the front edge and I needed to add carpet tape across the whole back face, so that did not need too many tacks.Overall, they look good fitted, but the manufacturing fault and poor adhesive means more cost and time.

I can't rate these highly enough. Very good value for money considering how these are actually real sisal treads. We had a splintery and slippery wooden staircase and were wondering what to do with it when by chance we came across these. Thought I'd buy it as not much of a loss even if they don't work. They have TRANSFORMED the stairs. Aside from the fact that they look fantastic it's also so much safer, our toddler is finally braving the stairs and it's cushioned, not slippery, non plastic. And took 5 mins to fit the whole staircase as it's just sticky back tape. Would def recommend.

I bought these as my dog was scared to come down the wooden stairs. The quality is good, and it's done the job. The dog can finally manage the stairs, I'm really happy! Only thing I would change is the sticking strip at the front work's fine, but it needs something to hold it down at the back. I have bought some rug tape.

I used these stair tread on the access to our cellar. They are perfect for providing a sensible grip. (They are a little difficult to keep spotless - but I tahini that has more to do with the fact that they’re access from a hallway to the cellar rather than the product).
