Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Volume 2

Much like the one before it, this is by far the best version of any manga to be revealed covering the videogame Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Instead of just repeating the same lines you see in the videogame, this version not only goes the extra mile and includes far more eye-pleasing drawings, but covers more ground by showing some things that were previously left to the viewer to decide on their own. Each page is filled to the brim with very detailed images and there are even a few pages that are strictly added in for fun that don't necessarily take place in the plot. This is the BEST chapter 2 of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and it does one helluva job of showing the world through Hajime Hinata's eyes as he and his classmates are forced to kill each other to escape Jabberwock Island! Great stuff!!

I’m a huge fan of the Danganronpa series and I’ve been wanting to read this for a while now. It’s really good I’d give it a 10/10! I recommend for other Danganronpa fans!

Similar to the previous entry, this is the best-looking Danganronpa manga series by a mile. The artwork is consistently fantastic and highly detailed - the artist did an incredible job translating the game's style to a manga series. Despite the 2nd trial having all kinds of complicated twists and turns involving the video game motive, I thought they did a good job with the trial without it being too confusing (at least, for someone who's familiar with the source material). Additionally, there was the creative touch of replacing most of the "investigation" sequence with some behind-the-scenes sequences of some of the events surrounding a certain character leading up to their murder, which I thought was clever. Unfortunately, I have to knock off a star still, because the accent they gave Kuzuryuu is... so, so bad. It's impossible to take him seriously when his lines are translated like a 1920s New York mobster. Just one example: "What's ya problem? Why youse punks run out at me like dat? Though ya was five-o for a second!" He reads like a completely different character! For someone who's a vital part of the emotional impact of the 2nd trial, it's a tough pill to swallow.
