Best value solution for docking with two monitors
I bought another dual HDMI dock a month or so ago without realizing that it relied on MST, which is not supported on Macs. While that one worked fine for separate displays on my Windows laptop (a Lenovo Thinkpad), the two HDMI outputs were mirrored (rather than extended, as desired) when using it with my Macbook. I bought this one to replace it since Thunderbolt should allow it to function as two independent outputs without relying on MST, while it seems plain USB-C cannot. It was a bit difficult to make my purchase decision because existing reviews failed to point out which of the several models on this page they were for, so to be clear, this review is for the Thunderbolt 3 Dock Mini. I am using it with a 2019 MacBook Pro 16". I can confirm that this dock does all it was supposed to do -- both of my displays are now working as intended, and I am able to use USB devices and ethernet successfully on my mac. I will note that when I first connected it, the ethernet adapter failed to obtain an IP address, but this may have been user error. After putting the interface down then up again, I got an IP and it was functional. The only feature I wish this had was charging passthrough. The previous dock (which failed to provide dual display outputs on the Mac) had this functionality, even at its lower price point. Though I can work without it, it would be nice to have.

Buy this!
Night and day different compared to the new Anker docking station that I bought recently. No more unstable wireless signals for the mouse and keyboard. Highly recommended!

Thunderbolt and USB-C compatibility
You need a thunderbolt port. Thought I would give it a try with a laptop that has usb-c port and not a thunderbolt port. Even tried a usb-c extension cable, but no luck. The dock mini is a thunderbolt device, so my laptop doesn't connect to the device properly. Note: Did not update drivers to see if that would work since I can't do so on my work computer. Works perfect straight away with my personal laptop with has a thunderbolt port. Fyi you don't need it new to do it's job 👍

Great for My Mac Not My Lenovo
—-Updated Review 12/14/2023— Dropping from 3 to 1 star because I’ve discovered the random disconnects of the external screens were not the thunderbolt port on the laptop but was in fact this dock the entire time. It must be a loose connection inside of it or something similar to cause it to be an intermittent issue but it continued after moving from a Lenovo device as a primary laptop to a new M1 MacBook Pro. To further isolate it I bought an anker USBC HDMI/Network/USB dongle and ran them side by side for a few weeks. While the disconnects happened on the screen and USB device connected to the Belkin the screen and USB device on the anker dongle were not impacted and continued to work. Unfortunately it’s out of the 2 year warranty at this point, which is my fault for not doing more testing to determine this issue was the Belkin earlier. But honestly with the much cheaper alternatives now available, such as the anker dongle that has worked just as good for my purpose at less than $30 as opposed to the around $130 this Belkin cost, I’d never buy this again. —-Original Review——— Little disappointed with this dock. I intended to use it for both my 2018 MacBook Pro and my Lenovo Thinkpad 470 that both have thunderbolt ports. The Mac will display the built in screen and two 27” lcds over the dock HDMI ports without issue, no setup, right out of the box. I could not get it to do the same with the Lenovo. Only one 27” would work at a time. Either port and either screen would work just not both simultaneously. Tried firmware and driver updates on the Lenovo side with no success. Belkin’s site doesn’t offer drivers and seems to expect it to just work but that hasn’t been the case. I kept it because the Lenovo has an HDMI so with one screen on that and the other off the dock i get the 3 screen functionality I’m looking for and it’s more for the Mac.

PERFECT!
I have a 13inch 2in1 Dell XPS. Bought it about a year ago. It only has a micro sd slot reader and 2 thunderbolt type c ports. I was looking for something that would allow me to use my laptop at work on my medium-sized desk without taking up too much room with extra cables or modifications. I came across this device and decided to give it a shot. It works flawlessly plugged into 1 of my 2 thunderbolt ports. I have my external large work monitor connected to it and my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard connected to my laptop wirelessly and my other thunderbolt port remains free for charging. The final bonus is the fact that this device is a hub so I get an ethernet port, dual HDMI output support, and 2 USB type-A ports. I strongly recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable, and affordable option with minimal hassle.

USB ports do not work well
The USB ports can only be used if something is plugged in them before connecting the dock to the computer TB port. After that initial setup, I can see my USB drives. IF I unplug one memory stick, I can reconnect it again and it shows up. Once I disconnect *all* USB sticks from the mini dock, it will not anymore work until I disconnect itself and reconnect to the thunderbolt port in the computer. Tried in a laptop (Win 1909 build 18363.1016) and desktop (20H2 build 19042.685). In both cases I tried with default thunderbolt drivers (DCH) and legacy drivers. In all cases, I initially **approved ** the thunderbolt device from the very first time I was prompted to. Of course restarted a dozen times, etc. Could have been such a great dock. Also wonder why still uses USB2.0. Not like I will use it to reflash a bios. I will acknowledge that windows also sucks and is 50% to blame as is the case with everythin microsoft. But the thing just does not work well for me. Tried searching forums, etc, this is why I am returning it, against my will. Because it costs enough so that I cannot just keep it to use it for displays and perhaps ethernet.

This adapter is connected to my Mac book pro and when two HDMI ports are connected to it it gets really hot. I mean very hot so I normally run off with one hdmi port - only one monitor connected to it.

Nicely made and well packed, expensive and limiting. Looks good if visuals in black give you comfort.Thunderbolt 3 Cable is FAR TOO Short an don a IMac puts strain on the TB3 Ports on the Main Board of the IMac , My Belkin Blog kept detaching till we taped the Belkin Cable to the back of the iMac. Video wize it works a treat, but you can only have 3 screens on your 5k iMac (Even if two of them are 1080 Resolution, with this device. Would i buy again, probably not.
