Convertible Briefcase

I had a leather backpack I bought in Florence that had sentimental value but the strap broke and with all the return to work moves I needed something for my commute. I found this. The key here is no guy wants an overly fancy briefcase to walk into a meeting, to much curation and preciousness, leather licked by Tuscan wild boars, etc.. Smart people in business notice everything, and yes absolutely they will notice your LV briefcase, and unless you are Elon they will question your sense of self-importance as well as your judgment. This briefcase is good looking without flash. The leather is thick and high quality, the interior is functional and easy to get to, and for those days when you have a long walk through a city and you have packed your laptop, a lunch, some newspapers, your umbrella, a presentation and a couple of notebooks plus handouts for the attendees, it has very comfortable and completely functional shoulder straps that tuck away when you are traveling lighter and want the traditional briefcase handle. One minor beef-- I wish when it was in backpack mode, there was a small handle for when you take the thing off and put it at your feet on the subway, holding it by one of the straps is lopsided and awkward. Great deal, looks like it will last forever.

I've been really happy with the bag. The quality is very good. There are ample pockets, sometimes almost too many. I tend to carry a lot of documents and cords, and it is perfect size. I've never felt that I'm constrained. I do like that the one side is the backpack so that you know where to set it down so you don't scuff the leather. I suspect the brown leather will scuff over time but that is natural with any bag. I haven't been traveling through airports for the day that much so I have not really used the backpack straps, but I think it will be very beneficial when I do. Got tired of carrying a backpack to corporate meetings when I traveled, so I asked ChatGPT to change my look from Dora the Explorer to Indian Jones when I walk into the boardroom and I was steered here. First, the bag looks great and I’ve had more comments than one would think they’d get about their laptop bag. That said, it’s big - great to get all my gear in, but feel like it could be compartmentalized better. A few pockets in the inside but feels like my stuff just floats around. Also, it works as a backpack, but it’s big and boxy. If you’re all about function over fashion, then that’s not an issue. For me, perfect at a satchel. Felt oversized as a backpack. But it is large and will hold a good amount of stuff so take it for that it is. And yes, I look like Indian jones when I walk into the boardroom with my worn leather satchel.

I'm really loving this bag so far. Roomy, comfortable work and travel companion made of a nice grade of leather, from a company that may be a new favorite; I was recently provided a replacement for the inconvenience of a minor flaw. Able to function as a briefcase, shoulder bag or backpack, definitiely my new road buddy. The company's specs say it's built for up to a 15.6' laptop, but check the photos above and you'll see my 15.6" practically swimming in that bag, AND there's another compartment, plus an outside acessory pocket. I'm really looking forward to travelling with it. Be aware that it does weigh in at about 5lbs "(a bit heavy due to 1.8mm thick leather)" in the manufacturer's words, and "well worth it" in my own. 12/26/2024 Two years, six months later and she's still going strong as a daily driver or airline carry on, and drawing admiration all the way. People pretty regularly stop and ask about her everywhere we go, as often as once a week. Most recently someone sitting a full ten feet awa said; "THAT'S a NICE bag. I work with leather for a living and I can see the quality work from here." Hell, I'm amending this review after sending the link to my nephew, who just asked abbot about it. There is a minor issue with fabric separating from a small section of one of the main zippers, but that's in no small part on me for loading it up like an outdoor / camping pack on more than one occasion during a particularly busy summer. Great value for the money, I'd add stars tothe rating if I could.

I've been looking for a leather bag that had the flexibility to be a briefcase, backpack, and shoulder bag. I gave Tiding a shot last December, and have been pleasantly surprised. The leather is of good quality, the wear adds personality, and the general flexibility helps with travel and being on the go. I did have some issues with the liner on the interior being caught by the zipper, and also some challenges with the exterior liner coming away from the backpack straps. Tiding customer service was able to resolve to my satisfaction. Good purchase- will be looking at their bags for future purchases.

This backpack is made of high quality leather and has excellent stitching and great overall craftsmanship. The zippers and other hardware are heavy duty, and there is plenty of storage inside. It is made from top grain leather, which is why I purchased it, so it is heavier than other backpacks, but the weight doesn’t bother me. I noticed other reviewers complaining about the length of the straps, but the length is perfect for me with about 12 inches of strap to spare (I am a 5’4” woman). I never leave reviews, but this backpack is so great, I felt the need to share my love for it. Buy it.

Only thing keeping it from 5 stars: 1) a bit more structure 2) zipper that allowed access to at least one of the pockets from the end (would make it easier to access on airplane).

Not as described. Leather backpack with no way of converting to briefcase or messenger bag. Backstraps are not removable, they do not hide away. If you want a quality feel leather backpack, it is very nice. But it does not have the multi function features as described. +1 star for support being very helpful to return and refund.
