Rules of Engagement: Preparing for Your Role in the Spiritual Battle

Too many times in Spiritual Warfare, I have seen unnecessary causalities. I have found that in the charismatic movement, many are taught about their authority in Christ but are clueless when it comes to actual practicality of implementing Christ's authority against the enemy. So like the "Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva..." (Acts 19:13 &14), these untrained Christians walk into a viper's nest and get their rear-ends handed to them and have NO CLUE as to why! If you have a military background it's obvious and FatherGod's army is no exception. There is moral character (like self-control) that has to be build before you are given authority over anyone or anything else. There is procedures, prerequisites, and priorities that must be clearly defined before engaging in any warfare whether spiritual or physical in order to WIN. This book explains in very practical terms how to win at Spiritual Warfare. Author Derek Prince is learned & experienced in the topic & it shows in his writing.

By far one of the BEST by Derek Prince.I understand this is actually one compiled by D.P.M., and not written by Derek himself. In case you do not know Derek died 12 years ago (in 2003). However, D.P. Ministries did a great job on this book.I am actually reviewing this book for two people, my wife and myself. She loved it and still talks about it.This book gives us a great overview on the Christian life and how we are constantly being tested and tried in our walk with the Lord, and HOW TO OVERCOME. The promises in the Book of Revelation are TO the overcomers, not to those who are overcome.God's goal for everyone of us is to be conformed into the IMAGE of Jesus, to be Holy as He is holy and to walk in righteousness. IT IS POSSIBLE, not impossible as some teach today. All of the testing GOD send our way is to see IF we are passing the grade. :-)READ this book and learn how to be more successful in your walk with OUR LORD.

Excellent! A perspective I hadn't encountered before--the Rules of Engagement for spiritual warfare, laid out clearly and precisely. Biblically solid throughout by one of the finest Bible scholars/teachers of the last generation. And challenging--i became quite aware of where I am not prepared to engage in spiritual warfare as I should. But I also learned paths for strengthening the walls of my walk and my faith.

This book was written to assist the inquiring Believer to press on beyond the casual life of Church, Politics, and boredom. Chapter 27 is the key message – ‘Preparing to Reign with Christ’. Most Christians, like me, have missed this instruction in scripture, so are not anticipating anything beyond escaping from judgment and Hell. Enjoying a 'vacation' in Heaven is NOT the ultimate goal.Serious Believers should read his previous book “They Shall Expel Demons” as preparation for this one.Prince narrows it all down to this truth “Preparation”. Don’t be caught short at the day of your death. Read this book in one hand and your Bible in the other!Now I anticipate the transition to the after-life in Eternity!

Derek Prince is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and teachers. I regret that I did not discover his books until now. He writes in a very informative, non condescending way that is on a level that most anyone from the highly educated Christian to the "babe-in-Christ" can understand. His teaching is timeless and crucial. I intend on reading every Derek Prince book I can get my hands on!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It taught me a lot and the experiences that Derek Prince shares are amazing. I recommend this for any seasoned believer or someone looking to walk in the power that God has given them.

Derek Prince clearly explains what the Bible says, not what he thinks. That's what makes him so different from other Christian writers and teachers and to me, he is one of the best. He explains the practicality of the Bible. God did not give us all this information, so we could just know some stories. There is practical information. If you don't think you are in a spiritual battle then you are losing.

This book is foundational. The title is misleading in that one could think the book is all about Satan and demons and how to prepare to conduct deliverance from them. But, the book is about solid, basic, Biblical christian living. That is how one prepares for spiritual battle. The title could have been "A Call to Holiness". Prince writes with so much Christian maturity and conviction that it is impossible not to want to draw closer to God. His constant reminders that Christians must suffer through trials and testings in order to build Godly character is something that modern day motivational-preacher types just don't understand. But this book is Biblically based. It is not a theology book, so don't waste your time looking for eschatological answers etc. This is back to the basics of living Biblical christianity and then the Devil will flee!

Get this book! It is clear and inspiring teaching and totally practical. The very best I have read on this subject. Essential reading for any Christian!

This is a MUST-READ/LISTEN book for believers who love God and for non-believers who are seeking God.Salvation is only the beginning of the believers' journey with Christ.The Israelites took 40 years in the desert to learn these truths, that Derek Prince explained, in order to become God's Holy Army that was permitted to enter the promised land.All the topics addressed in this book are MUST-be-taught-topics by church pastors; not just the "feel-good", "not-offensive-to-anyone" topics that contemporary churches are teaching on Sundays.It is the duties and responsibilities of church leaders to nurture the body of Christ to become God's Holy Army, to finish the race we have to run for Christ so as to be deemed worthy to enter into God's Kingdom.Derek Prince has tied together the Bible Old and New Testament books to paint the big pictures of God's purpose for His Creation, humankind.He has been led by The Holy Spirit in the writing of this book.

A friend was so happy when I gifted her this book. She said Derek is the very best author ever. Concise but full of message in every sentence. I’d buy all his books.

Uses simple language. Gives insight of added meaning of words, uses personal examples to bring teaching to current times. I will read it again to reinforce having grasped its application to my life.
