Great fuel pump for the money.
I recently bought a small diesel tractor and wanted to stock up on fuel for the winter. After filling a 50 gallon drum it occurred to me that I was going to need a pump to get the diesel out! I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a pump so I researched them on Amazon. This one had pretty good reviews and was reasonably priced, so I bought it.Okay, I don't really love the outlet tube from the pump, but it does the job adequately. The pump came with several sections of pipe that need to be screwed together to fit the fuel tank. By choosing which pipe sections you use the pump can be configured to fit not only the standard 50 gallon drum but also smaller ones down to 15 gallons. The pump also has a threaded collar that fits on the supply pipe and can be threaded into the opening of your fuel drum. It also has a screw on it so you can tighten the pump supply tube/collar fit.So, I assembled the pump easily and popped it into my diesel drum. Time to see if she pumps! And pump she did! I was impressed by how easily the pump crank turned. You crank it clockwise to fill the tank. My Kioti's 7 gallon diesel tank filled so quickly I was caught off guard and overflowed it a bit. I was pleasantly surprised to find that cranking the pump counter-clockwise drew fuel from out of my too full tank and back into the fuel drum. Bonus!I was under the impression form the reviews that this pump was kind of slow. I guess if you're filling a 30 gallon tank, yes it will take quite a few cranks, but for my 7 gallon tank, it goes very quickly and I couldn't be happier. I've been using this pump for over a year now and through most of two winters and it continues to work fine.I'm real glad I found this great little pump on Amazon.

Works decent for a budget oil pump...
I've only used it to draw about 5 gallons of diesel fuel at present, but it seems to operate just fine. I used a petroleum-safe pipe thread sealant when I assembled it. I believe the pump housing is made of carbon steel with paint on it. Somebody complained about metal flecks or metallic paint chips in their motor oil, but I haven't had that issue so far. I'm using it in a 55 gallon fuel drum and it works far better than the little plastic transfer pump I was previously using. It sure is nice for topping up my compact tractor.NOTE: To all the buyers that have been hating on this pump...it's NOT made of stainless steel and it is NOT for anything water-based. If you are pumping something petroleum-based like diesel fuel, fuel oil, or motor oil then this pump will work. If you do something ignorant like use it for a water-base lawn fertilizer, you will definitely experience the terrible seizing problem that all the other people who didn't read and understand the description are complaining about. It is an oil barrel pump, not a water pump. Use it for the right application and then write your review.6/30/2018 UPDATE: Still using this pump. I've run about 100 gallons of fuel through it now and it still is working great for filling my Kubota tractor. I definitely do not regret buying it. Also, I have not notice any metal flakes like some other reviewers had mentioned. Seems to be working exactly as designed.

Handy tool but mine is leaking- leak is now terrible
Second update - It appears the leak is a gasket that gets dry and shrinks, probably because I only use it about every third week. I find if I pump enough to fill the main body, then let it sit for a few minutes to wet and expand the gaskets, there is no leak. I shouldn't have to play with it like this.Update- Despite efforts to stop the leaking where the handle goes into the housing, the leak is worse, about 1 cup of fuel leaks for every 20 gallons pumped. I do not recommend this product.I bought this product to use in a 30 gal portable gas caddy. Pretty straight forward application. Despite repeated attempts to align threads and tighten I get a leak where the down-pipe connects into the inflow female thread at the bottom of the pump. Now, six months after purchase, I'm also getting slight leakage where the turn handle connects into the pump housing. Going to try some gas compatible Teflon type tape to see if that will solve the leakage. I like the pump, but obviously leaking isn't a good thing. Leakage is not severe so the pump gets the job done, but it shouldn't leak.

Works amazingly well!
I don't review products a lot, but when I find one that works REALLY well I want to make sure others know about it. This pump works great, I use it to pump out waste engine oil into smaller containers. The old couldn't have been more than 50 degrees but it still moved nicely. The quality it also very good. I just put it together with some Teflon tape and that was it. Make sure you keep track of how everything connects as well as the plug that threads into the bung of your drum.

Love this thing!
I have 2 of these. 1 for a gas barrel and 1 for diesel. I've gotten along great with them, threads on the pump mount adapt perfect to 55 gallon drum bung holes

Awesome
I’ve been looking for a pump to transfer water from 6 gallon jugs to my RV water tank while bio docking. I tried a drill motor pump and an “up/down” hand pump. Both failed right out of the box. This thing is a BEAST!It will pump fluid as fast as you can crank it. I emptied a full 5 gallon bucket in under a minute!!!Zero leaks and self primed right out of the box! My only complaint is the price but well worth the money.
