Pleasantly surprised. I started baking bread from starter (pre-pandemic) but was having trouble cutting into the loaves with the knives I had. When I looked at bread knives on Amazon I was shocked at the prices of a good bread knife from a brand name company. I went with this because it was prime and Amazon would make it right if it was just some cheap thing.The knife is amazing. I’ve never owned like a “good” bread knife but a high end couldn’t do that much of a better job I’m sure. This thing is crazy sharp and saws right through my loaves for cleaner pieces. A super sharp knife might seem like more of a hazard but it doesn’t slide around like my other knives do the cuts are more stable and I’m actually less likely to cut myself.Honestly, you won’t regret getting this knife if you’re becoming an amateur baker like myself. Amazing quality and weighted well for a price that won’t break you.

Bought another set of " Japanese style knives" , which included a bread knife. I was able to compare my also new, shark bread knife against the set knife, on my crusty and thick homemade sourdough loaf.. Shark won hands down. Smoother from the bite, and sharper also. Began slicing with 1/2 stroke vs. 1 1/2 strokes for the set knife.. beautifully made, well balanced! Worth the price!

With this coronavirus andemic and stay-at-home orders I've been baking a lot of bread and needed a good bread knife to slice my homemade crusty Artisan bread and this knife works great! It comes in a nice box for storage and it has a good sturdy quality feel to the handle and the blade is sharp. I will only use it for slicing bread. I use my chef's knife for everything else. If you're looking for a good knife to slice bread, I highly recommend this product.

I've been using this knife for about five months now and every time I use it I can't help but be impressed by the quality put into this instrument. It is a one piece solid steel riveted blade and handle with a perfect weight and balance and serrated blade that I'm sure will stay sharp for years to come. Don't hesitate to buy this product, it's well worth the price in fact it's a bargain for how well it's constructed.

This is a perfect knife. The only thing I can say bad about it is that it is soooo sharp that if you are not careful it will cut you...but then it is a knife and that is what it is supposed to be...sharp. I love it and highly recommend it.

My wife loves a good crust on our bread, so I knew when I started making my own that I would need a good knife to cut through it. The Mad Shark is a work horse that has been perfect for slicing my thick-crust bread. It's so sharp and effective I've even had to be careful not to apply too much pressure when slicing so I don't damage my cutting board!

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a good bread knife so I took my chances with this one. Glad I did! I spent a little money and got a GREAT knife! This knife is for right-handed folks but certainly is a beautiful knife. Very sharp and well designed. No issues so far. I only hand wash my knives, this one included. It comes in such a nice box that it makes you not want to throw the box away. We are very happy with this purchase.

The knife is very sharp and cuts well. I have used it for meat. However, I also bought a bread slicer and the knife is too thick to fit in the slots.
