Happy Swallows in Alaska
These birdhouses are great!! They are made of excellent quality cedar and are beefy enough to last for many seasons. The design has been well thought out and should offer our Swallows a safe place for their young to thrive in. We usually make our own birdhouses (these are better).

Excellent quality and design. Buy these.
Super well made. A bit pricey but the quality is worth it. These are the easy clean-out type. I bought 8, I live in a mountain forest with lots of birds in this size. You will have to drill your own mounting holes, and pre-set your screws. Not hard. I prepped all 8 ahead so once up on ladder all I had to do was drive 2 deck screws into the tree. They ring a pasture. I did add the gnaw-shields as a precaution.

Well Built
I love the looks of this Bird House. I have a long line of trees behind my fence and put several birdhouses there, this one is a favorite. It looks so nice. It is not yet nesting season. I hope in the Spring a nice family will move in. This house is built well. It has fledgling skerfs to allow the chicks to leave the nest when ready to fly. It has predator guards at the entrance, Air Vents for good Ventilation, elevated floor for nest ventilation, and easy clean out door. Everything my "have to have" list was checked off by this little house at a very reasonable price. Need to add after reading other reviews complaining about the quality of the wire in the flooring I went to a craft store and got some heavy "plastic canvas" that is used for needlepoint and cut a piece the exact size as the floor and placed on top of the wire bottom. The holes in the plastic canvas are small enough to prevent little bird feet from getting stuck as another review reported finding a dead bird. Update 4/20/22 I have 2 of these birdhouses in my yard. They are the only 2 houses that have Blue birds nesting. I have 3 other styles or models of birdhouses so far the birds are ignoring the them. I highly recommend them. I wish all 5 Birdhouses in my yard were these.

Sticky Gummy wire mesh
The bird houses are built beautifully, very thick and very sturdy. Perfect for bluebirds. Shipped in perfect condition in one day with Amazon prime. Why I gave this beautiful box only Four stars, there's one serious flaw, but can be easily remedied. The wire mesh in the bottom of the box is very gummy and sticky. Which makes it unsafe for the birds to stand on to build their nest. It sticks to your fingers! The birds could easily get stuck building their nest. I took them out of the boxes and sprayed some greased lightning degreaser on them along with a squirt of Dawn. I scrubbed them with an old toothbrush under hot water and gummy sticky residue immediately came off. Please remove them from the boxes and clean them before you put your boxes up outside. I plan to paint mine, I will post an update once the two I purchased are completed.

Excellent quality
Compared to a number of others we have owned over the years, this is a very well-constructed bluebird house - simple and sturdy and with a nicely designed door. The company also is excellent as one of our items was broken in shipping and they immediately sent us a new one. I am glad we purchased two of these and look forward to installing them in a few months.

Solid construction . . . plus
I purchased 3 of these to put at different spots around the house. The construction is solid. No worries about it falling apart once on the tree. I drilled 2 holes in the back of it, and wound some coated flexible wire through the holes to help in attaching them to the trees. They've only been up since the start of the winter (wanted to get them up, in place, and start weathering before the spring). We've already noticed eastern blue birds checking them out. Haven't had any take up residence yet, but so far everything looks like the houses are piquing their interest.I also like the design. They are easy to open up and clean out; just turn the little metal clip, and open up the front. Also comes with a slightly larger opening if you are in an area where you have western bluebirds. Just replace the opening block of wood.Overall, was impressed with the design, and how well built for the price.UPDATE: It's mid April and 2 of the houses have Bluebirds taking up residence. I'll post pics if I remember at some point to take some.UPDATE 2: We now have a tufted titmouse couple taking up residence in the third house. So 2 of the houses have bluebirds, and 1 has titmouse. The first house we had bluebirds take up residence in has now had 3 sets of hatchlings; so far so good :-) and houses are as solid as the day they arrived.
