My mature skin is at a point where it needs all the help it can get. It’s gone from being combination to dry skin. I’ve settled on CeraVe after research and reviews give it a high rating for performance and affordability. Needless to say, they are not wrong. It took a minute for me to get accustomed to the silky texture of the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, Moisturizing Face Wash. It has the thickness and consistency of a lotion: no foam, no suds. So applying this after wetting my face felt weird. Then massaging it into my skin? That felt even weirder. But the reward comes after rinsing off and patting dry. My skin feels soft and smooth. Fortunately, I haven’t experienced a negative reaction. The product lasts a long time because a little goes a long way. It’s perfect for cleansing in the morning when I’m washing off products I applied the night before. I make that distinction because I tried using this at night after wearing makeup and I had to wash twice. The CeraVe cream to foam cleanser is recommended for pm use and for makeup removal. I bought that as well even though I rarely wear makeup these days, but that’s another product review. I’m so pleased that I’ve added other CeraVe anti-aging products to my routine because who doesn’t want to age well?

I also often use it as a body wash. It is unscented, cleanses well, rinses clean and leaves skin lightly hydrated and comfortable, but not greasy at all. There is no foam or lather, but it's not necessary and I don't miss it. The pump is very convenient- no cap or lid to drop.

It cleans my face gently without stripping it, and my skin stays nice and moisturized all day instead of feeling tight or dry. Super easy to use—just a little pump, lather up, rinse off, done. No fancy stuff needed, and it leaves my face feeling soft and comfortable. If you have dry skin, this is a solid everyday face wash. Highly recommend it!

I bought this with hopes that it'll be an effective face cleanser, but what I did not expect it to do was to fix my dry dead peeling skin on other areas of my body. I applied a gentle amount of the cleanser to areas with minor peeling and scratches and within 1-2 days I witness a healing effect. Not only did it begin to heal, but it also stopped further dry/dead skin cells issue from forming, which I've been occasionally experiencing before trying this out. I'm on my 2nd bottle now and will be purchasing my 3rd during the next sale! I use this once per day every day and 1 bottle lasts slightly more than 6 months. Best part is this cleanser is paraben free and is tested by the professionals to be safe on the skin. Just be weary though, only the U.S variant of this hydrating cleanser has "paraben" free clearly stated on the back of the bottle. The Europe and Asian/China version does not state this. It is not clear if the ingredients on the other variants are the exact same or if there are using a slightly different formula. I'm not taking my chances and will continue to purchase the U.S version here from amazon. To summarize, the hydrating cleanser is an exceptional cleanser that does it's job without using harsh ingredients along with the added bonus of hydrating the skin. I do wish for Cerave to be more consistent with their products and offer the same product globally. This is my only complaint.
