So the Sink and Tub are running slow. But good news there is a cleanout right outside. Bad news is that the cleanout plug hasn't been removed in decades. Even with a 6 foot cheater pipe, no joy. So I put a 1/4" pilot in the plug and then used a eight dollar 2" Holesaw to drill out the plug threads. It was a Slow trudge but got it done leaving a perfect 2" hole at the end of cast iron pipe. The Mechanical Plug fit perfectly. Couldn't have worked better. It's well made and makes a very solid seal. A great temporary fit so now there is no rush to replace the cleanout pipe.

I used this inside a 2" pipe for a shower pan leak test. It fit perfect and tightened down nicely. When I went to remove it I was able to loosen the nut but the rubber adhered to the pipe and it took some time to get it out. I assume it was because the rubber was new, maybe i should have rubbed some dust on it before first use.

The plug it's self was well made. But it did not fit my drain. So I ordered another type of plug.

This is very well made. The top piece pictured has extends out past the pipe by a small amount, so it can't fall into the pipe. The wingnut is metal and beefy enough to compress the rubber. The rubber is undersized without wingnut pressure, allowing it to easily fit into the pipe, but can also be squeezed outward with more than enough pressure to seat tightly. I'm using these in a funky project where I need them inside an elbow, so I will need to shave the shoulder down flush with the pipe so it can fit into the elbow.

Used it to plug a washing machine drain on a laundry room that we converted into a walk-in pantry. Worked well, good fit (2 in model)

This plug does a good job of closing off a PVC pipe for leak testing. The problem I had was that it was cumbersome to hold the plug in place and keep it from turning while I tightened the wing nut. This design would probably work fine for a larger diameter pipe, but requires some work on the part of the user when working with 2-inch pipe.
