Havahart 1020 Two Door Mouse & Rat Trap Cage

We had a mouse problem for months and I absolutely did not want to do anything lethal since I used to have mice as pets.We successfully captured and relocated dozens of mice to our local park - one of which was EXTREMELY pregnant. So glad we found her when we did!Now we’re at three months with no mice!

It is much too small for rats. It is a mouse, shrew, and vole trap. Beware of this seller. Also, their "free returns" policy is to deduct outbound and return shipping costs from your refund.

Expensive and a little tricky and delicate to set up but works better than any others I have used to catch our very small, very light weight desert mice. I use a small schmear of almond butter as bait.

Had to secure such that it not flip 180 degrees. If it does flip whatever was trapped can escape. It is fairly easy to set however severl times the trap was sprung with none of the bait gone, Suspect that even a slight movement of the cage will set if off. i had two occurances of the trap flipped ovwr before I secured it to the ground. After doing the it works ok.Could be improved with modigication to keep trap doors closed if flipping occurs.

It was tricky to get it set up. You have to get it set just right so the trap doors stay open while you place the trap where you want it. Once you do that, it works like a charm!I knew I had a mouse in my car because food items, left in the car while camping, got nibbled. I had left a few raisins in the car after returning, and they disappeared. So baited this trap with raisins. Caught the little mouse after a few hours. I took the trap across to a wooded area and let the poor mouse go.Hope I won't need it again, but it was perfect for a mouse.

Not well made a bit filmsy.

I have used this trap twice already and have successfully caught 2 mice. I only open one door and leave the other one closed. I put a little peanut butter on a cracker and place it all the way in right behind the closed door to make sure the mouse walks all the in and steps on the trigger plate. This trap is well built and completely humane. I’ve successfully re-homed 2 nice completely unharmed. If you’re looking for a humane mouse trap to catch and release, look no further. Be sure to release the mouse 5 or more miles from your home into a big wooded or land area to make sure it can’t find its way back to you. I prefer releasing it in a wooded area so it at least can find refuge in nature and food.
