A-MAZING! WAY better than Lakanto’s. Tastes a lot like Aunt Jemima from childhood
2021 update:These guys were the top sugar free syrup sold on Amazon before Lakanto even HAD a syrup. Don’t let the simple packaging and lakanto’s modern packaging fool you. Lakanto syrup taste like sugar syrup..or agave. Joseph’s is thicker, tastes like a maple syrup, and KILLS any other brand - we’ve tried them! I can even eat it right out of the bottle it’s that good, and I’m not usually that person ;DI've been sugar free since 2012.I lamented this since I ate lots of sugar, but in mid-life I got skin itchiness and rashes which went away completely by deleting added sugar in my diet. That sucked. So finding this was heaven! And here's what's weird..as anyone who quits sugar knows, you stop craving it (and food in general..cravings are carb/sugar generated, and your palette changes, I digress),. You no longer even like sweet things. The first time I made GF pancakes (yep, that too), I used this, and was so seduced by the yummy taste and thick texture of this stuff I set down the dang fork and dipped my finger in the syrup and just ate it! Now I don't bother with pancakes, when I feel like a sweet something like it, I just pour a bit on a teaspoon and savor it straight up! I never do stuff like that, but it's de-lish!There's a REASON it's top ranked on Amazon :)

Thick, tasty, no aftertaste.
I bought the most popular sugar-free ones, Joseph's & Log Cabin, for a taste test. I'm not a member of "Friends of the Pink, Blue, Yellow, Stevia, & Xylitol", I just wanted something that tastes good. This is my first review, because many of the "factual" comments I read were wrong, after looking at Joseph's contents label. There's no stevia or xylitol in the product, & the maltitol (a sugar alcohol) is on the FDA's Generally Recognized As Safe list. I just want to avoid getting Type 2 diabetes. // Comparatively, Joseph's 35 calories/ 2 oz. serving are 15 more than Log Cabin's, but sodium content in Joseph's is 1/5 the other one. Joseph's pours thickly, the other like typical syrup. Joseph's tastes terrific with no aftertaste, the other gave me a non-specific feeling of being artificial. In sum, if you NEED sugar-free, buy it. Maltitol is in plenty of other good products, such as Extend Bars. Just don't submerge your pancakes in a bowl of it, stick to the 2 oz. Joseph's is from a small town in New Mexico; they're not a conglomerate. They really provide what tastes good.

A TASTE WONDER (an opinion, of course)
I am not diabetic nor have a pressing need to stay sugar free OR ELSE. Let's say that over the years there is wisdom in certain choices. This is the only brand of sugar-ish-free maple syrup that actually TASTES GOOD !How many food pics & promises may look great ... but past the lips - 😒 ugh.BUT THIS IS AMAZING!(disclaimer as always: if U have a health challenge that involves docs, nutritionists,etc... get their OK on food changes)BTW I come from the State where REAL MAPLE Syrup comes from --> & we are happy to also buy "the real thing" from thousands of miles away.😒 Did U know that there is an Actual Occupation where a persons job is to make a picture [or video under hot lights] look GREAT ... while the item might be made of cement, ink, etc.I cannot think of any more OT things ... but 5 stars here for the product

You have to use lots to really taste the sweetness.
Good substitute product. Very thin like any other pancake syrup. This one is not very sweet however. And to make matters worse the cap does not hold and you can squeeze the bottle with the cap on and there's air escaping. If you want to be able to really taste the sweetness you have to add 1/4 of the bottle per sitting. I sometimes add a touch of stevia to make the syrup sweeter. Add this syrup to Whole Wheat Pancakes from Skinnytaste website and you've got yourself a breakfast. Add a protein shake or yogurt while you're at it.

I buy this by the case!
This is, by FAR, the best sugarfree syrup I've ever tried and I've tried them ALL, I think! In fact it might be the best syrup, bar none, apart from pure maple syrup. If you're doing low-carb, or diabetic, or just try to avoid sugar in general, this product is excellent. Others I've tried have been either sickeningly sweet, artificial-tasting, gloppy, or too thin. This is thick, luscious, and delicious! The ONE caveat is that it IS, as another reviewer has pointed out, a sugar alcohol (maltitol) and if used in too great a quantity may well cause "gastrointestinal distress" to put it nicely!I never have a problem with it when I stick to the recommended serving size of 1/4 cup - which doesn't SOUND like much but is very adequate for a serving of pancakes or waffles (low-carb for me please!) or added to recipes such as barbecue sauce or others requiring maple syrup. I even use it to make a delicious pecan pie!

Where have you been all my no sugar life!?!
Love this syrup! Thick and flavorful it is the best thing for a keto waffle or regular waffles! It is not too runny, no funny after taste, and it doesn't cause a mess. I wish they had a squeeze bottle top but that doesn't take away from the rating - it is that delicious! As far as sugar free syrups go, this one is the best I've met so far!

My fav flavor with few ingredients
Tastes great, like Aunt J syrup. Can't have too much as it does raise my insulin just a little bit due to the maltitol, but not as much as sugar.

Was an Outstanding Sugar Free Syrup
This is by far the best sugar free syrup I’ve experienced! That being said, the first couple of orders were dark and full of maple flavor and perfectly thick when poured. Many lower quality syrups are thin and runny. The past two purchases I’ve made, the recipe must have changed. It’s much lighter in color, less flavorful, and thin and runny. It’s extremely discouraging to have found the perfect sugar free maple syrup that meets the agreement of all family members, only to have it changed into a syrup that is no better than the rest. I’ve recommended Joseph’s to many, only to find I may have egg on my face if they purchased after the recipe changed. If Joseph’s returns to it’s original dark and flavorful recipe I’d gladly rate it a 5 stars across the board!
