BEST One So Far... Cordless Trimmer.
Overall out of the box it looks to be a great sturdy and light weight battery power string trimmer. Worthy of 5 stars. BUT... I have yet to test this out due to this was Black Friday item and now winter time, will have to wait until spring and summer. As of now I was able to check and or test out the battery and charger. Battery came partially charged about 20% to 40%. I decided to charge the battery to full charge thereby also testing the charger. The charger : At first plug in, both red and greed light simultaneously flashes ONCE (a good sign). Upon connecting the battery, the charger started to hum from silent to loud and started to smell like something is burning. ( I got nervous and disconnect and unlatched the battery and unplug from the outlet.). Back to reading the manual (still not clue). But my understanding was the cooling fan. Research some YouTube videos. Conjured up some courage to try again. Plugged in the charger and connect the battery. Same thing as stated earlier. Held my breath and left it connected and allow it to charge (supposedly). I made sure after 15 min. to check up on it just to make sure it had not started to catch fire or exploded. So far so good. After 1hr on the charger, went to check on it; press on the battery power button and the indicator light was solid on 4 bars and 5th bar was flashing (good sign I thought). After 1 and 1/2 hr went back to check again and Bam! battery was fully charged. BUT the charge still was humming, noise was not loud but you can still hear it. Conclusion was that the loud noise was the cooling fan working to cool the charger while it was charging. This needs to be clearly stated in the manual. Once battery was fully charged I decided to dry operating the trimmer, connect the battery and squeezed both levers and Bam!......IT works. Other than that, so far I have a working product/item. Can't wait until spring/summer. Finally : I recommend this. Update (December 2023) : Got a chance to test this item on my backyard in December month. This trimmer works and operation really as expected and better than others I have own. It has power. My backyard size is 30ft X 95ft. Did the whole backyard filled with dried and dead weeds (that was still standing, 6in to knee high) just fine without using anymore string. I did not even notice that the string was jammed but was able to finish my yard. (Note : Possibly string can be easily jammed or even ran out without even knowing it, only that the string got shorter or too short). The battery used was 2 bars to do my whole backyard. Good sign that one full charge can and will do my whole back yard.

Battery lasts a long time. I’m to tired before it is.
Very powerful and easy to use. Nice to use without having to fill it with gas only electricity.

Good machine with poor quality line suppied.
The trimmer works well for me. Mowing and edging about 1/3 of an acre, I get about 2 edgings to the charge (30+ minutes). Light enough that I don't feel the need for a shoulder strap like my old gas trimmer. I was slightly disappointed initially, but this was due to the poor quality line that was supplied with the machine, which disintegrated upon touching any hard surface. It performs well with my regular line, and was very easy to restring. Time will tell how long that the battery lasts, but it has a decent warranty and a number of my friends have had good luck with the EGO brand.

Exactly what you need for personal and business
I have had this product for 10 days, however I had a family member with the same exact one and its been 4 years for them so I pretty much already knew how this product would be (they purchased theirs from Lowes.) I hope this review helps. If you care about colors they are just as described and hold up my cousins has not faded in 4 years. This is light enough for my mom to use who is almost 70, she use to always have swelling in her hands from the old one, this one she works with a breeze. My 11 year old also uses it with no issues and he is 80 pounds about 5 feet. The battery that is included last 45 minutes, however if you purchase a bigger amp battery you will get a lot more time. I purchased this to use for my yard work and it knocks out thick high grass with ease. My dad uses it with his lawn care business as well and has no issues, its not a buschog but it will get the job done ! It does come with string but you will have to purchase some additionally if you use it a lot. If you keep it to the right of you(I think its right it might be left but there is one side) if you keep it on that side while using the grass doesn't come up and hit you. In my opinion it does take some time for the battery to charge. Changing out the string is easy (I have never used a weedeater in my 30 years and I was able to do it with ease and fast.) I am 5'7 and the length of it is great for me, my dad is a little over 6' and also no issues he doesn't have to steady bend his back. Hope this helps!

Ego 56 volt power trimmer
This Ego Power string trimmer is a weed chomping, grass spitting, edge defining beast! Best trimmer I've ever had. With 56 volts, the power is there. The trimmer head spins at many thousand rpms per minute ensuring that you have the power and the speed to get it done! A full charge has an hour run time, and can cut much thicker weeds and small brush than even a gas trimmer. There is no start time for this Ego trimmer. Pull the trigger and go!

Old technology better than no technology
After 3 months, my trimmer failed. I received a service destination that was 80 minutes round trip. I dropped it off on July 12th and it still hasn't been repaired. My 8 year old gasoline trimmer still works and thankfully I did not get rid of it when purchasing this product. 8/18/23 Update: I called the service department that I was directed to and they haven't done much because they claim that they are having trouble with EGO in getting information to repair the trimmer. No telling when I will have this resolved. Perhaps I can convert it into a snow blower. 8/30/23 Update: I called EGO as well as the service department that I was assigned to take my trimmer for a warranty repair. There was no effort to get this resolved. EGO "escalated" this issue on the 18th but nothing has been addressed. Neither party has contacted me. The service organization claims they are trying to reach EGO for more information but EGO claims they were never any contact. As the Merry-Go-Round continues. I am just glad I still have my gasoline powered trimmer. Lesson learned... Old technology better than no technology. I thought I would complete my update for this trimmer debacle. 8/30/2023, I received a call from the service department that I was assigned to take my trimmer for a warranty repair stating that they were still trying to get an RPM measurement device from EGO. A few days later, I received a call from them that the trimmer was found not to be defective and I could pick it up. They did not receive the device from EGO so there was nothing done regarding any maintenance tests. I took the trimmer in initially because the head seemed to be slower and the line would not advance when tapped on the ground. When I picked it up, I tried to advance the line in front of the service desk and it would not advance. They took it to the back of the service department and then gave it back to me and said that the line was jammed. Obviously, that was never tested before. Let the reader draw their own conclusions regarding the produce and the lack of quality service. Good luck!

Great trimmer
The braided string used by this trimmer is much stronger and performs much. It is more durable so it cuts through heavier brush that bogged down my old trimmer. When you get into a chain link fence the string isn’t eaten up before you can pull back. The 56 volt battery delivers more power for longer so you can get the job done quickly without problems. I also have an EGo mower and the batteries are interchangeable so when you have huge job to do one can be charging. The batteries charge quickly and last a long time. The only improvement I would suggest is the trimmer should come with a shoulder strap. The trimmer is well balanced to alleviate the added weight of the heavy battery. When I was younger the weight wouldn’t have bothered me, but as a senior citizen a shoulder strap would extend my work time and allow me to finish the job sooner. As it is I take more breaks.

Great line trimmer.
Does what is supposed to do and does it well. Battery life is good, 30 to 40 minutes of actual trimming time. Recharge time is quick, less than 30 minutes. I have seen a few reviews that say the battery and charger get very hot. That has not been my experience. They get mildly warm even going from weak to fully charged. The trimmer has plenty of power for most things I need to trim including vines and such that I thought would be too much. It seems well made but I only have about 2 hours of use on it so time will tell. Good value for the dollar in my opinion. Just wish extra batteries were not so expensive.
