Spending this amount of money on a pair of Thorogood American Heritage Boots to use as a work boot may seem a totally insane move.However, I am on my feet 7 days a week, average around 14,000 steps a day, up and down ladders, in attics, in fields, indoors and outdoors and have yet to find something that will keep my feet feeling as well as humanely possible. I have tried all sorts of work boots, from HH to Doc Martens, some I have worn for a week and thrown away because they are just not quite right, even when they felt fine at the start. Some had cheap soles which would wear through in a month, some soles became too soft that they stopped supporting the foot and some that had linings that failed within a week.While these are not steel toe capped, there are a number of sites I have to work on where this is compulsory so I have a pair of boots for this. The majority of the time I don't need a steel toe boot.When I first ordered the shoe I measured my foot standing up. My foot is the length of a piece of A4 paper, 11.69 inches yet I have constantly had to buy shoes in size 13 to get them to fit.So I took a chance and ordered a size 12 (US13) which is what is recommended for my foot length. The old adage is that to get support from a shoe, buy long but keep it narrow.Out of the box and onto my feet while wearing a pair of medium weight hiking socks they fitted like a glove, perfect in length and just a little snug in width. After a day of wearing them, there has been no pinching and the leather is so supple it just starts to mould to your feet as soon as you start wearing them. Obviously there may be a short wearing in period, but from the moment they went on my feet they were comfortable. The other bonus is that they come with a decent quality removable insole, something rarely seen as most manufacturers cut corners here.The quality of the leather appears excellent, especially finish and the suppleness of it. The stitching is good, with everything in the right places.The flat sole takes a bit of getting used too but from what I have read it is really durable. One plus is the fact that there is no chunky tread pattern. As I go into many homes and offices as well as working outdoors there is less likely hood that I will trail clumps of mud in with me.All in all I an extremely happy, yes these boots might be an extravagance but if I get 12-18 months wear out of them they will have lasted three times longer than what I have worn before.UPDATE: One week in of wearing these (75,000 steps according to my Fenix 5X) at work and they have been the most comfortable work boots I have ever put on my feet. With a pair of medium weight Lorpen hiking socks there has been no break in period, the leather is supple and soft. The sole offers comfort cushioning and stability. On Wednesday I left my house at 2.25am to work and didn't return until just after 8pm and my feet were fine. No blisters no rubbing no discomfort.To darken the stitching I applied some black shoe polish, then lightly coated the boots in Grangers Wax. Even in the wet they have been water tight. The white soles do get a little discoloured and I prefer that worn look rather than looking like a clean pair of fashion trainers. These are my work boots after all. The laces are great as they don't get water logged and they stay tied.The only disappointment so far is that I haven't been able to source a pair of size 13(US) in brown for casual wear. First seller to put them on here gets my cash.

My redwings always hurt my feet and could never break them in properly, these had great reviews so I bought a pair .. very well made and so comfortable straight out the box with a solid 6 hour use, very impressedThey come up a little big but ok with thick socks so this is good for me.Memory foam type insole which is excellent and hook lacing is a master stroke for quick on/off.The laces are dodgy as they seem too thin so I’ve replaced with a red wing pair which are perfect

This was my first venture into what I would consider an expensive boot! So far I'm really impressed. The build quality is great. Really thick leather, with a lot of stitching. Makes the boots feel very solid. As you would expect they are quite heavy on your feet as a consequence. I was expecting some kind of breaking in period, but these were comfortable out of the box. The only thing that I didnt like are the laces. They are thinner than I was expecting, but that's just personal preference, and not really an issue.

Great boots really well made and top quality. Only gave them 4 stars cos I've not worn them in yet so will see how they work out. Was hard to workout the UK sizes, I take 8.5 so went for 9.5 US. This gives me bit of room for thick socks. Also got hit with £25 vat and handling charge but in knew this. Still a good buy.

I was pondering a pair of Redwings but when researching i discovered Thorogoods and decided to go for them instead. They are slightly cheaper but don't let that dissuade you - these are the real deal. The Redwings tend to go a strange shape after a while as the sole wears - my research told me that the Thorogood sole is better and longer wearing too. They look terrific and fit like a charm with the added bonus of not needing any kind of break-in period that Redwings appear to need. I been on a good few long walks and so far no discomfort whatsoever. I'd recommend getting some Mink Oil to condition and care for them and they should be good for years to come. A great investment!

Has these a year now and they can only be described as a quality boot. Stylish and comfortable

So i have been shopping around for a good Moc Toe boot for a few weeks now. Red Wings, Thorogood, etc. I had my mind set on thorogood and since they're almost impossible to find in Canada, this deal has been too good to be true. They were 254$ with one day prime.So i get my order and i'm amazed to find a steel toe boot ?!? I actually wanted a steel toe but could not find them under 350$.There was a mix-up in the inventory or the description. It's for the best because i actually settled for less when ordering.I love the boots!!!

I’ve tried them all; Danner, Red Wing, keen, etc. and these boots are by far the best fitting and best looking. When you get the boots, the first thing you will notice is the box, which is an American flag. I mean, the box actually looked as if it had quality detail added to it which was amazing. Next, you’ll take the boots out and notice the smell, which reminded me of a baseball glove. Finally, the laces, which you can tell will last you a while based off of the feel. Once you put these on, I guarantee you you’ll never want to take them off. The only thing I recommend to those of you who are heavier like myself, get some good arch support insoles. These do not have the best arch support, but once a good pair of insoles are in them, you will fall in love. Thoroughgoods will be on my feet even when I’m 6 feet under.

So I got these on sale for half off and I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Let me just say these boots are amazing, comfortable from the first try one and 2 weeks later. I wear a 12 men’s and I ordered a 11.5 wide and they fit perfect. Anyways great boots a must buy .
