You dont have to be a pearl lover to find great pleasure in perusing, thumbing through, and loving this book...to say nothing of actually reading the text. A pearl is natures only gem of animal origin, and mother nature has outdone herself with such technical intricacy and resulting magnificence! This wonderful book with educate as well as delight the reader and hopefully foster more appreciation for this natural wonder. B W

The photos in this book are very nice. I discovered some nice ideas for very fancy earrings, although I would have preferred more new necklace ideas. Those shown were quite pretty, though. The necklace on the cover is simple, but it is almost exactly like a few necklaces I have already made. I expected more new ideas built upon the nice taste level of the cover necklace. I'm glad I have the book in my library, because of the earring ideas and the few new ideas I found in the book.

This is the most beautiful book on pearls! I thought that I didn't really care for pearls until I read this book. The designs are fabulous.The technical section is adequate, and the index of projects, excellent. I can't wait to get started! This is a far, far better book than Making Designer Freshwater Pearl Jewelry, which has a good technical section, but boring, boring designs! That one I am returning immediately.

Nancy Alden's books are a must have for any jewelry maker. She really gets your creative juices flowing. Great addition to every jewelry/beader/stringer's reference library.

This is a great companion to the book by Marlene Blessing et al as it shows what else you can do with the wide variety of freshwater pearls available today! There is a good range of simple projects as well as more challenging ones. The tools are well illustrated. Altogether this is a good introduction to the craft as well as a useful source book for the more advanced.

these are not your grandmother's pearls. if you want to use pearls, and bring the attention right up to your face, these necklaces will do it. fabulous styles, easy to create.

I have always liked fine stones & pearls, & this book gives lovely examples to make, it is full of information ..on threads, different clasps, examples of alldifferent types of pearls, & how to thread stones, & knot pearls..invaluable book !

A lovely book with both traditional and modern designs. Lots of pictures of gorgeous jewellery that is so tempting to make. I have already made 3 items and used ideas of other pieces in the 3 weeks since I bought it. Maybe not all the designs are for the absolute begginner, but I have only been making jewellery as a hobby for two years & have no difficulty with the patterns.There is also a guide to the background and different varieties of pearls.If you love pearls you'll love this book.

Dieses Buch ist wunderbar aufgebaut. Ganz tolle Ideen-Schmiede. Schade, dass es Bücher dieser Art nicht in Deutsch gibt! Aber dadurch, dass die Arbeitsanleitungen ganz toll bebildert und nahezu selbsterklärend sind, ist dieses Buch auch für Leute mit geringen Englisch-Kenntnissen verständlich und sehr zu empfehlen.

This is a great book, I'm very happy with my purchase and would definately recommend this book . Beautiful illustrations and projects to do.
