Material Type:Fast Hardener | Size:Gallon Kit Our 521 Marine Epoxy Resin can be used with our 521 Fast or Slow Hardener, depending upon your application. 521 Marine Epoxy Resin bonds with fiberglass, metals, wood, and composite fabrics and features superb strength, durability, and moisture resistance. The 521 Epoxy cures to a high-strength solid, suitable for laminating, bonding, fairing, coating, and reinforcing. Pot life ranges from 12 minutes @ 70°F for Fast Hardener, to 30 minutes @ 80°F for Slow Hardener. Cures to a high-strength, moisture-resistant, light amber plastic solid that can be sanded and shaped easily, once cured. Self-leveling properties are ideal for coating and laminating. Viscosity is favored for wetting out fiberglass cloth and other reinforcement fabrics easily. Use this versatile epoxy resin with 521 fast or slow hardener to complete a number of boat building, repair, and restoration projects. Fast Hardener is a perfect selection for applications requiring quick working time and for use in cooler climates (recommended use 60-70°F), the 521 Epoxy Resin/Fast Hardener mixture remains workable to give you adequate time for application, and it speeds up cure time. The recommended temperature for use and dispensing via pump: 60-70°F Pot life @ 70°F: 12 minutes (Fast Hardener) Set time @ 70°F (thin film): 6 hours Cure time @ 70°F (thin film): 1 to 4 days Hardener Color: 521 Fast (Dark Amber) Slow Hardener is a perfect selection for applications requiring more working time and for use in warmer climates (recommended use 60-70°F) Minimum recommended temperature (Slow Hardener): 80°F - Slow Hardener buys you a little more working time in warmer temperatures that tend to reduce working time and speed cure time of epoxy resins. The recommended temperature for use and dispensing via pump: above 80°F Pot life @ 80°F: 30 minutes (Slow Hardener) Set time @ 80°F (thin film): 10 hours Cure time @ 80°F (thin film): 1 to 4 days Hardener Color: 521 Slow (Clear-Light Amber)

Overall good buy. Weak pump.
Product worked well. I have never used epoxy before. They kept it easy to measure out with the pumps. The only knock on it I have is the resin pump is extremely slow. I had to leave the resin bottle next to a heat vent for a few hours to let it loosen up before I could even get it to work. This is even after it sat in my well heated shop for a few days.

Don’t let the pumps measure
I bought the gallon. It’s complete crap. If you buy it messed everything and don’t use the pumps to measure. I waisted countless hours hoping it would dry and now have to strip everything just to redo it.

be sure to think carefully about the quick or slow set. I chose wrong but am making it work.

Excellent results on my boat
Excellent results with this epoxy. The 'fast' hardener works great in my cooler Michigan climate. Ample pot life when temps dip below 70F (nine months per year), all the way down to 50F. Plenty of time to add layers after epoxy first begins to 'kick'. Sanding and cure hardness are still dictated by temperature, so the lower the temperature - the slower it hardens, and vice versa. I would not want to even try the slow hardener in my location, unless it was to be used only in the heat of our very short summers.Mixes well with chopped glass, silica, wood flour, and fairing fillers. No difference whatsoever from other higher $ brands in terms of workability and finished product. So easy to use! Just one pump of resin to one pump of hardener, and mix well.Ordering more this week to mix with graphite to apply to boat bottom.
