BEWARE! 10% of the songs removed!
What this book doesn't tell you (until you buy it) is that at least 10 of the songs (Zeppelin, Stones, Who) have been removed due to licensing restrictions. They're still listed in the table of contents but at the bottom is an addendum that states "*Omitted from the publication because of licensing restrictions". What a joke. Now it isn't even 100 songs and a bunch of the good ones are not there. That's 10% of the book! The songs listed in the table of contents but not included are:1. Satisfaction - Rolling Stones2. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin3. Won't get fooled again - the Who4. Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones5. Sympathy for the Devil - Rolling Stones6. Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin7. Kashmir - Led Zeppelin8. Jumping Jack Flash - Rolling Stones9. Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin10. Whole lotta shaking going on - Jerry Lee Lewis

Don't expect much...
I'm coming off a 30 year hiatus from guitar playing. Career, wife & kids (not necessarily in that order) took priority. I had forgotten much of what I knew so I thought this book would help jog my memory. It did for a few songs, but most were poorly done or just plain wrong. For example, no mention of using a capo at the 3rd fret on Fire & Rain. ...and how do you not include the (relatively simple) acoustic into to California Dreamin??? Parts of some songs were written an octave low to put it within the first 5 frets - presumably to make it easier for beginners, but results in it being more difficult than playing it correctly!Overall, the tabs are just poorly done. If you're a beginner, there are other books that will show you the correct way to play these songs. If you have a decent amount of experience, then don't waste your money.

Description is a little deceiving
I think the description is a little deceiving to label Easy Guitar. I’ve been practicing for 4 months and there are only a few songs I can almost completely play, but with some hesitation. May guess is that in 9 months to a Year I may be able to play a third, or more of the songs in this book, and yes I will still consider myself a beginner at that time.If your just starting out you may want to wait at least 6 months before purchasing , just in case you abandon playing before that time.Another fault I feel is that many of the song extent beyond two pages, and require flipping the page to the rest of the song. A fold out would have been nice for least those song that did not exceed 3 pages. Hard enough for a beginner to play, but flipping the page while playing for me impossible. On the positive note there are some nice songs in the book, and they all appear to be complete. As I develop my skill this will be a next step challenge from beginner approaching intermediate stage. There are better Hal Leonard song books out there for beginners with 5 months or less under their belt.I was hesitant to purchase based on the reviews I read, but as time goes on, and I continue to practice this song book will likely fit in.

25-50% for beginners... the rest is a little harder (but that's ok)
I've dabbled with guitar on and off for much of my life. I could do a bunch of chords and a few scales and a few songs. This time I decided to give it a real shot, so I signed up for lessons (WORTH IT!) and practice 30-90 minutes a day.I bought this book because I wanted to practice some different chords and in different orders than we have done in the lessons. So far I like the book quite a bit. I very much appreciate that they actually show the chords at the beginning of each song so new folks like me don't have to look up those we don't already know. I'd say about 25%-50% of the book is for true beginners like me (i.e., uses easier and very common cords like C A G E D Am Em... you know the chords that take two or three fingers to play). The rest is a little harder (i.e., more chord to remember per song, chords besides the majors and minors, require four fingers, and a few bar chords). But, that's ok as it gives me something to shoot for and judge my improvements. As others have noted, 10 of the songs on the list are "omitted from this publication because of licensing restrictions." Removed songs include all 4 Led Zeppelin songs, 4 of 5 Rolling Stones songs, 1 of 2 The Who songs, and 1 of 2 Jerry Lee Lewis songs. Not ideal, but not a big deal if you go into it knowing this. But, if you really want songs by these groups in particular, your money is better spent elsewhere. That said, after a couple of days with the book I'm already pretty good at All Along the Watchtower (D Em C), Somebody to Love (Em A Dsus4 G D), and am starting to get better at a few others. It's made practice a little more fun. Which is why I bought it. So, I'm happy with it

Great Songs-Easy (remedial) basic fundamental chords
Here you have a Super Great song list! Hal Leonardproduct, songs have all the lyrics, and chord placementto where they go. This provides tablature to show how the individual notes go. Some songs are closer in re-producing the actual radio played songs than others. This book is for learning these songs in an easy to learn format and it just is what it is. More advanced players may feel they wasted their money, but overall worthy

Good book for the price.
I am trying to learn guitar along with my daughter and thought this would be helpful. I'm trying to learn to finger pick a few songs that we both know to keep us interested as just learning the chords is proving hard to keep these two beginners very motivated. There are a few songs with the tabs, but many are way over my head with different guitar tuning and capo placement. I think this is geared towards someone who is more advanced than we are.

Love This Book!!
Love this book!! Actually I've been playing guitar since the 60s and had all sorts of books and sheet music that got lost in several moves. I just wanted a book with variety to replace some of my music. This book has lots of songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. So much fun!!

Copyright restrictions
Only 90 songs published not 100 as in title. Songs from Stones, Led Zeppelin and Jerry Lee Lewis omitted because of copyright restrictions. There are no replacement songs, hence the 3 stars. Otherwise a good book for beginners.
