Variable Frequency Drive VFD Vector Single to 3 Phase Converter, for Motor Speed Control,220VAC Input/Output (GT Series 11KW-15HP Model)

First I bought the 4.0kW to supply an old Bridgeport. It has performed flawlessly right from the start, at this time 15 months later. Five stars for that one. After that initial positive experience, I bought the 7.5kW to supply an even older lathe. My mistake was ordering it months in advance of when I knew I'd have the time to install it, so now Amazon support has long expired. This second one does not power up, at all. Error codes? It does not even turn on, no lights, no output, nothing. Is it possible I installed it incorrectly? Maybe, but I installed the first one perfectly, and the second one the same way. Tested on different circuit, still nothing. Zero stars for this one, so we're averaging 2.5 stars now. The company claims great support for a year after the sale, and I've read of some positive experiences. It's been a couple days now with no response whatsoever, so now I'm dropping it to an even Two stars, and ordering a new alternative from a competitor. Since the installation is all ready to go now, I'll know if the next one functions immediately upon delivery, solidly inside Amazon's support window. UPDATE: It took several days to get a service response, but after only a couple exchanges, they volunteered to replace the faulty unit. The replacement works perfectly.

At this point I've installed 9 of these VFDs and they have been great. I had one arrive DOA, and I had one fail due to a roof leak that dumped water on it, otherwise, no failures in 6 years. The only knocks I'd give them are a very poorly written chinglish manual and a non-standard MODBUS interface. I did get MODBUS to work after about 2 weeks of heavy debugging and altering the protocol. Everything else works fine. One note - if you buy an HY series (instead of GT series) be sure to specify that you want the braking resistor circuit installed. While they advertise it has having braking they don't populate that circuit unless you specifically request it (no extra charge).

Bought a 15hp model to run a 7.5hp motor on a 3 phase pressure washer. Worked maybe 10 times and quit. Now I get a SPO error code. Looks to me like one of the output legs died. Can't find a way to contact them no email or site to get ahold of anyone its been over a year and I still haven't been able to contact anyone. Pretty disappointed

I bought this to run a 2HP motor on a Bridgeport copy that is 3 phase. Like others say, the manual has some errors. It shows on the wiring page to hook up the single phase power to R and T. It didn't work that way. Hook it up to R and S. The best advice I can give is that before you order it spend some time on YouTube to see where others have struggled or succeeded . Do a search for "Huanyang GT" There you will find several videos including "VFD GT series operation" I took my laptop to the shop and followed it step by step. It ran perfectly with no issues at all and I have never wired a VFD. Watching videos will get you familiar with the functions. Great bargain for the money if you have some electrical skills! You will need to wire in a disconnect and likely low voltage control wiring. I went through the extra effort to install it in a enclosure. EDIT: After a successful install, I bought another larger unit for my 5hp Lathe. More challenging to install but well worth the effort. The amount of electrical hardware you get to remove is staggering! My personal opinion is to stay away from "Autotune" and just enter your basic motor parameters and HZ. Start slowly. As you learn the programming language things will start to click and make sense. Managed to get everything programmed exactly how I wanted it including the mechanical brake. Great product for the money. Patience.....required for this project but I couldn't be happier with the results!

I received a defective 7.5KW VFD. I contacted Amazon for warranty support, and Amazon directed me to Huanyang. I contacted Huanyang, and after a brief exchange of steps to debug and the results, Huanyang agreed to send me a replacement unit. The replacement arrived within a couple of days of our exchange. The replacement works perfectly. Time will tell if it holds up, but I am very pleased with the support I received. There are mixed reviews of this unit, but most problems seem to be evident right out of the box or upon initial powerup. That was true in my case - unit reset itself randomly right out of the box. This replacement is working as expected, so I am hoping it stays that way. There are more expensive options, and there are also cheaper options, but I really like the features and function of this box so, fingers crossed.

What is there not to like it works perfect and the instructions are easy to follow and programm

Used on a 2HP Metal Lathe and seems to be working well. Had a few programming questions and posted them through Amazon and received timely answers directly from Huanyang product support. There is a slight electrical noise (whining) that comes with using a VFD but it is definitely worth the flexibility of speed control and breaking that you don't get with a phase converter... not to mention the cost difference. The "auto-tuning" feature takes a lot of the guess work out figuring out the motor parameters.

Works very well for my 3 Hp motor. Able to start, stop, reverse direction and control rpm using cnc programs with centroid acorn.

I used this to power an old 10Hp metal turning lathe. We don't have 3 phase power in our garage and I didn't want to get a phase converter. This VFD was easy to set up, cheaper to buy than a phase converter, and made the machine safer to operate. I am only running the lathe at 60Hz for now, but tested the variable speed and it works great. Nice and smooth. I may be back for another VFD once I get my hands on a milling machine.

I ordered two inverters one for a 2hp, and one for a 3hp motor, and they work awesome. I found them very easy to program and wire. I Will definitely order another one if needed. Great customer service. 👍
