Fitting not a problem
Don’t believe those who tell you that it won’t take long to install, mine took me all day, but I am very pleased with the results viewed from both indoors and outside. What you’ll get is a part metal alloy, part polymer plastic design, with some useless instructions. The main body is formed from thin stamped metal, with its intricate components fashion from plastic, which is to be expected for the reasonable price of £35 (as of March 2020). I found the construction to be robust enough to overlook the plastic components, only the screws needed replacing after being stripped away by some careless soul at the factory (use the rubber band technique for this). As this is a DIY project you’ll be expected to have a hack-saw on hand, and you’ll need a set of thin metal files to redefine the intricacies of the metal roller’s grooves once sawn through - if like me you needed to cut the roller to size then you’ll soon appreciate the design decision to opt for a thin metal housing. The screen is able to self-retract against gravity thanks to an internal spring on the left hand side, however there are no external markings to define it’s end point location, so cut with caution (I measured this around the 360mm/14” mark). Sawing through the roller housing is like a magician’s sawing trick: best done fully compiled so that all parts are of the same length. However, the system never quite worked as smoothly after the operation; retracting slower and with more of a jolting action. Wound to an undisclosed tolerance, I found favouring around 12-15 full rotations, perhaps I underestimated them and could do with a few more?At the end of the coiled spring there was an ~80mm/3” protruding plastic pencil shaped rod (fashioned from the same kind of brittle polymer that a toothbrush might be), which I needed to snip away at with wire cutting pliers to allow room for the components normally far away at the other end of the roller after shortening it.Mounting the system from the bottom up, in order to secure the side guttering rails, I ran into complications at the top where pre-screwed-in-place clips that held the top roller housing in place from the ceiling were too tight to fit. In the end I had to mar the facade with a visible screw in front of the roller compartment to prevent it leaning away from the window. Also, the edge guttering slightly bowed away from the wooden frame it was fitted to be flush with, which could allow small flies through, so I might need to caulk that gap in?Not yet summer, I shall report back if the system doesn’t work as expected, so you can assume that it does unless otherwise noted.

Good Product and helpful Supplier.
We are very pleased with this product. It does exactly what we wanted. Easy to fit and use.Fitting was easy but think it could be designed so as it could be used on more window types. You may need to modify the window stays (if you have them) so that you can have the window open and the blind down, but to be honest l don’t think there’s away around this. The company was vary helpful when l needed to contact them regarding delivery instruction.

Good quality
Excellent speedy delivery and quality.Rather than follow the instructions for measuring the side panels it might be better to mount the top part first then measure the side panels in relation to the top bar.
