Q: Does this use a filter?

yes, the Levoit Classic 300 (LEVOIT 60-Hour Top Fill Humidifiers for Bedroom Large Room (6L)) uses a filter. The product comes with one filter installed and one extra plus a small cleaning brush. Levoit recommends using their replacement filters.

Q: Does this unit make a water gurgling noise or loud dripping noise?

I have tried several different ultrasonic humidifiers, and ALL of them have made a persistent, water-dripping, coffee-percolator sound, this one included. When this is on the lowest setting, it's quiet; any other setting, including sleep mode, sounds like a loud coffee percolator running nonstop. Impossible to sleep with it.

Q: I'm thinking of getting an air purifier also from Levoit, is it okay to put this near one?

Please keep in mind that the design of a humidifier is to increase the water particles (humidity) in the air and an air purifier's design is to remove any airborne particles in the air. Trapped water particles may cause the filter to saturate quicker and possibly harbor mold/mildew buildup. If you would like to keep the two in the same room, we recommend running the two at different times as far away as possible.

Hi, the intelligent sleep mode turns off all display lights and uses a humidity sensor to automatically adjust the mist level to maintain a 60% relative humidity (RH) while you sleep.
