Classic Theme Songs
Many years ago I bought the tapes and later the discs for TeeVee Tunes set of Theme Songs. However while working at a company, my copies of Cable Ready, (Vol. 7) and Remote Control, (Vol 6), disappeared from their cases. I found the cases, but no discs. I finally found the replacements through Amazon.com.I bought these used and I was nervous, but the discs arrived fast and they were in almost pristine condition. I have had many hours of enjoyment listening to the themes that I grew up with.Amazon.com has just about everything that you want as far as Movies, Music, and TV Shows.

Pete and Pete Rules
At last I've found the theme song for The Adventures of Pete and Pete!!!! Great song which I have searched high and low for in years past and never found. That's enough to make me buy this CD, but the Simpsons and Ren & Stimpy are great too. Other standouts are Seinfeld, Law & Order, Cosby Show, Different World, Blossom, Thirtysomething, and My So Called Life. A few others are totally lame like the theme for "My Two Dads", but then so was the show.

Stepping back into another time
Quite a collection of tunes, from cable and TV, dating from the late 80's up to the present day. Being a guy, there were a number of shows I didn't watch then and don't care to hear the theme music now...'Murphy Brown' and 'Designing Women'? I'll pass. Other shows were just too silly or far-fetched. 'Doogie Howser, M.D.', a 16-year old doctor? Yeah, right. 'Roseanne' was quite popular at the time, and rightly praised for tackling sensitive social issues. But the so-called 'star' of that show just came off as sarcastic and obnoxious...not my cup of tea. Other shows were just as annoying, like 'Barney and Friends'. But there are quite a few gems in this collection. It was a pleasant surprise to find some themes for animated series, including USA Network's 'Duckman' and one of the longest running cartoons of all time, 'The Simpsons'. A lot of iconic sitcoms get a fair representation as well, including 'Seinfeld', 'Wings', 'Family Matters' and 'Mad About You'. It says a lot about whoever put this collection together that they included the music from shows that were short-lived, or 'one-hit-wonders', including 'Davis Rules','Hudson Street' and 'Max Headroom'. The jewel in the crown for me was the sweeping, cinematic theme for HBO's feature presentation. Home Box Office had certainly come a long way from their humble beginnings in 1972, and no tune illustrates that better than this powerful piece of music that rivals Alfred Newman's 20th Century Fox theme. All in all, this is a nice collection of music. Like me, you'll no doubt hear themes from shows you never cared for, but there's also quite a few you'll enjoy and will bring back some wonderful memories.

As usual, a terrific collection
As with the other "Television's Greatest Hits" collections, this is a great compilation and a wonderful, heart-warming time capsule. It's amazing that seven volumes in, they still had a plethora of entertaining themes available to collect. A must-have for any die-hard fan of classic TV.

"I am a TV Head, I watch it day and night"
I was kind of hesitant to spend 20 bucks on this CD, but I grew up on a lot of TV and the memories these songs bring back are priceless. The performances are all originals, no cheesy imitations. My faves are the Nickelodeon tunes - 'Clarissa', 'Pete & Pete', 'Ren & Stimpy' - and I would have given the CD 5 stars if they had included at least one version of the 'Roundhouse' theme (the title of my review is an homage to 'Roundhouse'). Another missing theme is from 'Martin' - I mean, they have 'Roc' and 'Fresh Prince', but no 'Martin'? Or En Vogue's "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper"? Come on!The strings in the 'Sisters' theme still give me chills, "The Nanny Named Fran" always makes me smile and Doc Severinsen's "Georgia on My Mind" (from 'Designing Women') is excellent. When I listen to 'Twin Peaks' though all I can think of is the sketch on 'Saturday Night Live' with Mike Myers talking backwards and Victoria Jackson eating ribbon and spitting out a bow.All in all, this CD will make you smile when you hear the songs because they will make you think of the shows and what was happening in your life when they were airing.
