20/20 Classic Wah Pedal

Coming from using Vox and Crybaby wahs for over 30 years I decided to buy this after my 6 month old Crybaby died suddenly. I was hesitant but not let down, the range of this wah is smaller than a Crybaby or Vox to my ears. In a good way. It doesn’t get shrill at the top end at all and the bottom is much more defined, not boxy sounding. I’ve been wrong about wahs for more than 3 decades. Just buy it. Oh and the no “button” to click has been amazing.

Compact size, easy to use, sturdy construction, and I like the voicing and sweep of the wah.

I'd been using a Dunlop 535Q Crybaby for nearly 20 years when I ordered this. I'd been intrigued by switchless wahs ever since I saw one in Musician's Friend sometime in the mid-'00s, and when I needed to build a second pedalboard, I thought I'd give this one a try. Now I never want to go back! It's so convenient to just step on your wah and it immediately engage, as opposed to having to step down hard on the toe and then rock it all the way back. Plus, the tone is a little smoother, as Crybaby wahs can tend to be a tad harsh (which may or may not be the desired tone). The only complaint I could ever see anyone having about this pedal is not being able to engage it and then leave it in one position for that "cocked wah" tone. Granted, I have never needed that, so this isn't a problem for me. The only other thing I would mention to anyone looking to buy this: By default, the effect stays on for about half a second or so after stepping off of it, but this can be adjusted by taking off the bottom plate and turning a small potentiometer inside it. After I did that, this became the absolute perfect wah for me, and I highly recommend it.

Great little wah. Doesn’t crowd the board and delivers that signature sound. I didn’t score it perfect for two reasons. 1. When unboxed it, two of the four casing screws were stripped. 2. The tone shift is a little low. You barely have to rock the foot-rest. However, once you figure that out, it’s still a great sound. I wanted a Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie II contour, but settled with this to be easier on my pocket. I’m satisfied.

I normally return guitar pedals that do not come in a padded box. Doesn’t seem like much to ask for a little protection for an electronic product. I’ve had this pedal less than two months and there’s something rattling around in it. I missed my window to return it so it’s my fault. I emailed customer service for Morley and was told to open it up and check out the problem. I I don’t buy brand new guitar pedals so I can open them up and fix them.

Not having to press a switch is a nice feature but thats about all with this one. I'm use to a Crybaby and this is very different because the sweep range is short.

This is my first Morely product and I am impressed. I started out as a Crybaby fan but, the model Crybaby I have required me to stomp hard on it to arm it for action. So, I started looking for a Wah that was auto on and off. Crybaby's version was expensive and being on a budget, I decided to look for the lower priced options outside of Crybaby and I am glad I did. This definitely does the trick I wanted it to do at a better price.
