I recommend
Being in Brazil, I made this purchase with this seller and sent it to a hotel where a friend was staying and everything went well with the delivery, there was a setback but the seller kept me well informed of everything that was happening and then remade the delivery, super attentive. I recommend it to everyone

Value just not there
As much as this costs, you better love it. The problem there other options costing half as much with the same features set (AI, compass, multi-gas). Aqua Lung i450T for example. What is good? The less conservative algorithm (more bottom time). Color is nice. Maybe Bluetooth if your a mobile device-only user. The cons? Way too many button presses to see needed info, especially when monitoring air. No way to scroll the variable info field backwards, forcing you to cycle through 14 other fields. This was the hurdle I just couldn't get over. Battery - If you forget to charge once on a multi-day trip, you could easily run out, losing all your loading info. USB charging cable is a bit flimsy. There is a strong magnet to hold it; but as a result, you will very likely stress the cable to detach it. Oh, and that magnet also deactivates the compass until you've calibrated it again. Lastly, the screen is fairly dim and needs the highest brightness for sunny diving conditions... further impacting the battery life. I wanted to love it. It looks fantastic. In the end, it's too expensive to justify the negatives.

Fun piece of Finnish Underwater Technology
I got myself the lime version of the D5 and POD transmitter and I really like it. I am a scuba instructor trainer and freedive instructor and this computer allows me to benefit in both worlds with it. I had Suunto dive products for the last 16 years and that is my favorite so far. I used it on around 70 scuba dives in Indonesia, North Carolina and Mexico and on countless pool and open water freediving sessions until now. It took me a little while to customize it until I liked the settings that I would see underwater. I suggest to trim down the different displays to only see what you really need underwater otherwise you waste time scrolling through the menus underwater. The display: sometimes it appears to be hard to see at first on the surface. However in direct sunlight, on the surface and underwater it is crystal clear. The Memory in Pixel type display is very appealing and looks kind of futuristic to me. Battery life: after one charge I get 11h underwater time with "low screen brightness". If I am not underwater this charge will last probably 3-4 days. So I charge it just with my smart phone over night. In freedive mode I can feel the 15ft depth alarm vibrations through my 3mm suit, but not through my thicker suits. It gives me all I need during breathe-up and on the dive. Even an ascent and descent rate. The air integration: this feature is very useful as scuba diver and this new generation of Suunto POD work flawless. The paring was super quick and super stable for me. Accessories: I really like the different straps that Suunto offers. They are super easy to change, the silicone ones feel really good and the look stylish. I got the additional one Blue Nato and Black Silicone. Software: It has a great logbook with visualization of the dives and a very quick linking with the bluetooth app. However the app is still not 100% - I don't need a "daily goal" when I am scuba or freediving or I have not found yet how to turn that feature off in the app. I can totally recommend this product. Best price/value from Suunto since the Mosquito. And as a personal Suunto side note: Since the old Spyder and Stinger series I found the D-Series having lost a bit their character - with the exception of this new D5: that computer has character!

Screen almost too dim to see
I bought the Suunto D5 because the add photos showed a screen with bright, crisp and colorful text and graphics. I assumed that the bright screen would be easier for me to see than the much cheaper monochrome computer models. Unfortunately the actual screen is very dim and the colors are dull and muted. The attached photos show the D5 at the highest brightness setting. I expected much more for nearly $1k. The hard part is that I loved everything else about the D5. The computer looks great and is thin and light compared to other models. The buttons are solid and it's easy to navigate through the modes and menus.
