Good Wall Opener
Being that I'm a USC Alumni, I love the design of this wall opener. One of the support pillars for our backyard Cabana is literally no more than 2 feet away from our pool and directly covering our built-in swim up bar. Thus, placing it roughly 2 feet off the ground on the pillar works out perfectly for us when we're in the pool and want to pop the top on one of our favorite beverages. Now we don't have to bother somebody to bring us a bottle opener from the house when the need arises--or even worse, having to get our lazy butts out of the pool, dry off (sort of) and get our own bottle for ourselves in a nearby cooler and last, but not least, track down the bottle opener amongst the family and friends we often have over. The wall bottle opener is always there and at the ready. It's weather resistant metal construction is also a plus so we don't have to worry about it getting corroded by the elements and weather. The only strike against it, and it's a small one, is that it doesn't have the greatest grip on the bottle tops. Sometimes I have to try it several times before it grabs hold of the bottle cap, and sometimes it works on the 1st attempt. This grip issue is the only thing keeping me from giving this product a perfect score of 5 stars. That being said, I'm sure this opener is gonna get a lot of use in all the parties and get-togethers that are sure to come.

TERRIBLE DESIGN!!!
I don't often take the time to post a review, but the terrible design of this product motivated me to action! Along with a bottle cap catch-bucket, I installed the bottle opener onto my brick. The product looked great on the wall, and for just a moment... I basked in satisfaction of a job well-done. Then, to celebrate, I grabbed a bottle to test it out... and WHOA, complete failure! No matter how hard I tried, I could not for the life of me get this thing to pop off the cap. I grabbed another bottle of different dimensions, and after about 60 seconds of trying to wedge that bottle into just the right location, I was able to finally pop off the cap. Terrible! Obviously, the manufacture has completely failed in this design, as the upper lip that grabs the edge of the cap is spaced too far from the ledge that presses against the flat-top of the cap.If you care to bait your guests with the shiny appearance of this Bottle Opener, and then throw them into immediate frustration once they try to use it... Go ahead, buy it and put it up on your wall!

Bought 2 -- neither worked!!
Save yourself the hassle of having to return this item (as I'm about to do right now). Didn't think quality was going to be an issue on such a simple product and design. First -- the Cal emblem came off during shipping. Appeared to be just glued on. I probably would've just glued it back on myself, except for the fact that this bottle opener DID NOT WORK AT ALL!! There was no lip to catch on the bottle caps. Had bought this for my brother's 4th of July BBQ and paid expedited shipping. Ended up running to Bevmo to buy a cheaper opener that actually worked.

Quick Delivery!
We saw this product in a specialty memorabilia store priced at $28. I had it in my hand, ready to go, but then thought better of it and checked my Amazon app to see if it was available for a better price. Sure enough, half the price with free 2-day shipping. The bottle opener itself is nice and heavy, you can tell it'll be around for many years. We attached it to our pool table, it gets plenty of use. Just another step in totally Gator-fying our rec room :)

Manufacturer replaced it. It works.
[UPATE] I meant to update this a long time ago. The mfr replaced the opener, and it is now fine. I'm giving it 3.5 to 4 stars because I had to contact them twice, and really, how can you ship out a batch of openers made so poorly that they won't open bottles? Not rocket science. [Original review follows.] If you look at the Q&A above, mine is the one about a friend saying he can't open a bottle with the opener I sent him as a gift. I thought he was just clueless, but he's right! There is not enough of an indentation behind the lip to allow the cap to rest high enough inside so that the opener's lip can catch the cap edge. How can Siskiyou keep letting these pop out of the mold like this instead of fixing it? My advice: get a Starr-X brand opener, they are fantastic. And that company used to make an IU logo opener (I have one), but they stopped paying for the licensing. I hope you will all contact them and ask them to start making collegiate openers again. But back to this Siskiyou opener, now it's been more than 30 days and I'm stuck with this lousy thing, outside of Amazon's returns period. Unless Siskiyou responds to my e-mail: if they do, I'l update this review. If they don't, I'm going to try to Ron Swanson this one using an angle grinder, so either way you'll get an update here.Update already, two hours after posting this review. The company has responded and said they have a new manufacturer which makes openers that actually work. They are sending me one. Just for that response I'm going to two stars from one. After I receive the new opener I will update again.

Looks nice, but doesn't open bottles
This wall mount is well made and looks great but it doesn't do what it's supposed to which is to open bottles. I have to jockey the bottle around to get it in an exact position to open a bottle. What a pain in the butt! I am really bummed because this really does look nice but what good is a bottle opener that won't open bottles?
