Problems with Quality control
I am writing a reluctant review because I have ordered my Wellness Complete Health Natural Canned Grain-Free Wet Pate Cat.food 3 oz. pack of 24 in several flavors for a number of years. Sometimes I order through Amazon, sometimes I purchase it from my local pet store. I was moved to write my story now because I was considering placing a new order despite what I had experienced. After reading other stories about recent bad lots I feel I should have taken the time and spoken up. So, now I am reconsidering my next purchase until I contact the company. Back in February I placed my usual order. I ordered a case of both Beef and Chicken and Beef and Salmon flavors in 3 oz. cans. I still had some of the same brand and flavors left over from a previous pet store purchase, but I didn’t want to run out. I’m sorry I didn’t post this earlier since I just read a recent post in which a cat actually ate their food and became ill. In my case, I opened the can’s and put them out for my two cats who are used to both these flavors and every time I presented a can from this Amazon purchase in either flavor they looked at the food, smelled it and refused to eat it. I decided to see if they had just gone off these flavors, so since I still had both flavors available from my pet store purchase I gave them some of that food, same flavors but purchased differently; so they were from a completely different lot. My cats ate the pet store purchased Wellness food right away, without hesitating. So, I opened more cans of food from my Amazon purchase and studied them more closely. Every can in two different flavors from the same delivery smelled completely off. I was lucky to have the same brand and flavors from the pet store to compare right away. The results when I compared the food in the 3 oz. cans from Amazon with the same food from my pet store is that in both cases (flavors) the food both looked off (grey instead of pink) and the smell…well the bad batches almost had a rancid ammonia-type odor. I continued to check more cans and they were all off. I am upset at myself for not posting this earlier.I was busy at the time and I just threw it all away and went over to my pet store to buy Wellness from them. Now I will contact the company because I want know if they discovered something about the cases that went out about that time. I have never before had a problem with ordering my cat’s food from Amazon, and believe me, it’s an inconvenience to drive to the town from where I purchase the other Wellness food from. They clearly have (had) a quality control issue. My cans were far from out of date and again, I had never had this problem before with many previous orders.

Did not agree with my cat
This food gave my cat bad diarrhea. I have always fed him wellness and I was very surprised. The diarrhea stopped once I stopped feeding him this. I spoke to a rep at my local pet shop and asked if they have seen anything like that before, and she said yes. She mentioned that sometimes the food can spoil, and it is common especially when bought in bulk. She also said that she has recently seen a lot of pets with reactions to chicken products.I purchased different flavored Morsel packages and so far so good. I threw the remaining cans out. Overall my experience with wellness brands has been great. I am thinking I just got a bad batch.

Top quality food at a great price
This review is based on the 12 pack of 12.5oz cans. I have been purchasing these for a while now and as long as my cats keep eating it, I won't be buying anything else.Recently, my oldest cat (who is 14) became diabetic. I have been feeding my cats grain free dry food for about 4 years now but had to find another solution for him. After some research, I found that an all wet food grain free diet was the way to go.I am a stay at home mom with 2 kids (2 1/2 year old and 8 month old) and 2 cats (14 and 12). Money can definitely get tight on a 1 income family, and good quality wet food can be pretty expensive. After trying many brands, I finally came across this. This is good quality food and these large cans are a great buy. 1 can lasts 2 days, with 1 feeding in the morning and one at night. My other cat continues to eat dry food so my diabetic boy will snack on that throughout the day. He's getting old now, but he seems to be doing a lot better. I have definitely found the food I'm going to stick with.Just a quick warning: not all the flavors are grain free. I decided to try the Salmon and Trout variety and did not realize until I had already used 10 cans that it contained brown rice. So if you want grain free (which is the best option regardless of health because let's face it, grain is just a filler in pet food), make sure the flavor you buy is a grain free one.

The price on the large cans is excellent for a high end cat food
I judge cat food by three factors; quality, price, and cat.Per all the research I've done, this food gets high quality ratings. The apparent quality of the food out of the can lives up to expectation. Cats are sleek, healthy, alert, and energetic on this food. There have not been any issues with vomiting or bowel problems. The price on the large cans is excellent for a high end cat food. I'd love it if I could get it at a grocery store price, but I can't reasonably expect that. Both cats rated it good but not great. They accept it, they don't love it. I've seen much better reactions from them on "whole" foods (Soulistic and Tiki). It's a pate food, so this is not surprising. One problem, and this may be a shipping not a supplier problem, is the dented cans. So far none have been more than slightly dented, however this alarms me.

Possibly caused urinary blockage
I can't 100% say this was the reason but I should have done better research. Our cat just got home from the hospital due to having a urinary blockage. And for some reason even though Wellness brand is a great quality cat food, this brand has caused hundreds of pet owner's cats urinary problems. I only feel like this is true because our cat was doing great with his other food and then him being on this for a month and a half seems to have caused crystals in his bladder.
