Made In Abyss BLU-RAY Standard Edition [2019]

Bought this for my kids (5 and 7) to watch because it looked like such a pretty cartoon. Like studio ghibli films. Ignored the age certificate because it was probably there for emotional scenes of love and loss. Like the land before time. I f***ed up. This is not a kids program. I left them to it until I walked in on the scene where a little girl is turned to goo. Watching back on it, it has nutidy too! It turned out to be a great watch! Just don't traumatise your children with it.

Love the story, graphic, and emotional weight of this!!!

I'm still got a way to finishing this but it's a great series so far.

Fast delivery and in perfect condition, don’t be fooled by the art this is not for kids it gets pretty dark at times.

Made in Abyss was a title I was drawn to via the artwork I saw in a Anime magazine and after reading various reviews on several sites I decided to buy it. I was really glad I did, as it was/is one of the best Anime series I have seen in a long time. The story is unfolds at a nice pace as we follow our two lead characters as they journey down into the abyss and learn more & more about their back-stories and reasons for their grand adventure. The Blu-ray transfer looked crisp and sharp on my TV and the music is some of the best to be heard on any series. All in all I would highly recommend this series - even though it does end without concluding (but I heard a full length movie is coming out in 2020 that should finish the story). Made in Abyss is a much buy!

The epic steampunk fantasy to end them all, everything in MADE IN ABYSS is played for very high stakes: the physical violence and emotional cruelty the Abyss and its inhabitants visit upon our heroes is close to unbearable at times, and yet we keep watching. Though Riko, Reg, and Nanachi (the most adorable thruple in anime) have different but equally compelling reasons for reaching the bottom of the Abyss, it's their awakening love for each other that sustains them through the cycle of tragedy and renewal (twilight and dawn?) that shapes their one-way journey. The three movies in this set take us from the founding of Orth to the bottom of the fifth layer, where our trio come face-to-face with the demonic Bondrewd. Lives, of course, are changed. The Abyss itself is a breathtaking feat of worldbuilding: six alien environments layered one atop another, each one a richly imagined, potential setting for a series of its own. MIA season 2 can't be released soon enough.

I really enjoyed this the bluray it had English or Japanese with English subtitles. The animation is strangely mesmerising and the story engaging. Not childish. So much different from the usual, now looking at getting season 2.

The Blurays are proper 1080p HD, with now compression artifacts or something like that, exactly how it should be. (Currently I only checked samples) The Bluray contains also a bit of Bonus content like clean opening and endings, making of stuff and an Interview with the composer(mostly available in japanese with subtitles) I imported the limited Edition to Germany(the german Version seemed far less interesting) and originally it should have taken somewhere from 11.December to 19.February but in the End it came 26.November, so awesome and fast delivery! The Box itself comes as a little treasure Chest, with actual little Buttons. It contains a nice artbook, a Nanachi decoration thingy, a Keychain with Lyzas white whistle(only a flat metal piece, not a real whistle) and of course the Map of the Abyss. I'm super happy with the limited edition and I think the only 2 things that could made the edition even better would be a real white whistle and a few stickers so that I can put them everywhere.
