Garmin Vehicle Suction Cup Mount

This product is okay, not super by any rate. Suction cup tends to wear out after about eight months. One thing I don't like about it is that when you stick it to a cold window, sunshine or defrost warms the window and it pops off the window due to thermal expansion of the air caught underneath the suction cup. If the suction cup were a little deeper or wider, I think this problem would resolve itself. Once reapplied at the "new temperature" it functions fine again unless the window continues to heat up which may require you to put it in place one more time. This is not a typical day to day problem, but it has happened on occassion. It is more of a seasonal nuisance than a consistent problem. Given the low price of this item, I would say it performs well for price. It's small and non intrusive too, unlike some of the other "contraptions" used to connect GPS systems to windshields. That is a big plus. It hides completely behind the GPS and doesn't further interfere with visibility. If your looking for a cheap mount that performs well for price, this will work.

The first Garmin suction mount Semson shipped to me was terrible. It could not even hold up its own weight, and would fall off my windshield immediately after placing it there-not something you want to attempt to hold your $200+ gps. I immediately emailed the company (Saturday) and asked for the RMA# required to return the faulty product. Apparently they are closed over the weekends, but first thing Monday morning a reply email was awaiting me stating that they've already shipped me another suction mount and requesting my patience in waiting to try out this one before returning the first. They covered the shipping and handling for the replacement. About two weeks later I received the mount, and now after about one month it's still holding strong against the windshield and the weight of my Garmin. Although their first attempt sucked, they sent me a working replacement, at their expense, and were very prompt in answering my emails and did care about correcting the problem. I would shop from them again.

I left the window mount & bracket in a rental car in North Carolina (why Hertz doesn't contact you when you leave something of value in your car is beyond me). I couldn't find the item on the Garmin site and fortunately found it here. I received both the window mount & the bracket from Amazon. I thought the price was a bit high, but I use my Garmin when I travel and knew I couldn't live without it. So now I can get back out on the road with no worries about where I am or "how the heck do I get home from here?" running through my head.

First off, for the money this thing does the trick. If you are expecting it to come in factory Garmin packaging, you will be let down. This is NOT an OEM part, however, it does what its supposed to do. The ball fits into the socket maybe a little too tight, and any adjustment after mounting the unit on the windshield may take two hands. Being in Houston we have had extreme temp. ranges in the last couple of weeks. From 80 down to around 30. With the windows rolled up it has seemed to hold suction fine.For the money I think it is a "buy".

When i first reviewed this item, I gave it one star because the rubber suction cup fell apart on the second use - @#$%^&*! Although the price is right (~ 1/4 Garmin charges), I did not expect it to be a single use item. I wasn't very happy and Amazon helped me contact the seller. After explaining what happened, they promptly issued a replacement unit and it has functioned fine thru several uses (I don't use a GPS often and do not leave it mounted on the windshield to cook in the summer sun). So far so good and the seller, Jacobs Parts, gets kudos for customer service.

The first one we got broke the first time we used it: the suction cup pulled away from the base, but I have to say that the company was VERY fast about sending a new one and didn't make me send back the useless one. We got the replacement in 2 days after the email was sent. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars because of the performance of the first one, but the second one has been working great for weeks, and seems to be as good as the original clip that came with the GPS (and that I left in a rental car in Indianapolis.)

This item came with my Garmin Nuvi GPS that i got as a gift.I love the GPS to death-- but that is a review for another day......This product places my GPS in the perfect location on my windshield. It angles every which way, stays put and works perfectly.But one day---- I broke it after about 2 years of every day use!No problem with the product at all-- it just wore out.But I was devestated------- could I find a replacement?One as good as the original?Well I did-- and this is it."OEM"--- these are three letters you need to know. They stand for ORIGINAL MANUFACTUERS EQUIPMENT.This is an OEM Garmin Mount. Same thing that you get when you buy the original product.Same quality.Same everything.Thank god for OEM replacenment parts!

I received a cast-off Garmin GPS unit when the original bracket failed. I ordered this item, received it promptly, assembled and installed it easily, and for at least the first few uses it has worked perfectly. I generally only have my GPS mounted in the car when I expect to need it, so I attach and remove the suction cup regularly. Through the first several cycles I see no reason to anticipate a loss of suction, or vulnerability of the small lever one uses to create suction. At this price it is hard to argue with.

Great value. I used for Nuvi 2580 using existing sat nav mount.

For the money this product is good value. Seems to work fine and is certainly a fraction of the price for similar product in my local car parts shop.

WARNING!!! THIS PRODUCT IS NOT AS ADVERTISED!!!The pictures supplied make you think that the back plate attachment comes with this item. It does not. The description says "Garmin Nuvi Suction Cup Mount For 2X0 Series" even though the pictures show it with the back plate, which is very misleading.I needed this product with the back plate and was fooled by the picture. I can't be bothered to return it as it's simply not worth it, however I'll play it safe and buy it from Halfords or something where I can actually see what I'm getting.I wonder how much money is made from people ordering low value items that are incorrect, but can't be bothered to return them.Word of advice - if the description doesn't match the picture then stay away from it - no matter how good a deal it may seem.

Very good service it came by return post !!!! I now have 2 as I thought I had lost my one and had searched car but mysteriously is appeared in the car the day my new one was delivered !!
