USHAKE Sun Cap Fishing Hat Quick Dry Baseball Cap with Face Neck Cover Flap

I’m a melanin-less commercial shellfisherman and they just don’t make sunscreen that withstands the work that I do. I bought this hat to reduce my sun exposure and hopefully stop throwing away money on sunscreen. The quality is as I expected but it’s difficult to work in and the brim doesn’t provide enough shade. I’m often looking down while I work and the front panel impairs my vision too much and doesn’t stay put. With only one button on each side to connect the front and back panel, the panels easily flap in the wind. They could also be larger as I’m constantly pulling the back down to make sure it’s covering my neck. It’s not very breathable and gets hot quickly. I wore it for just strolling around on the beach and it worked great but the search continues for an effective, comfortable, and functional sun hat I can work in.

EDIT: After reading my review, the seller contacted me and acknowledged their product description was unintentionally misleading (water proof). They have since corrected the description to more accurately reflect the product (water resistant/light shower) and refunded my purchase cost.I am editing my rating to a four star. As I previously stated, this looks like a fine sun hat and if that is how the seller describes it; it’s good. The seller also told us to keep the one we ordered, so if it performs well this spring, I shall edit again to a five star.I appreciate Amazon giving buyers a chance to review; I use reviews as guidance when I make purchases. And I appreciate this seller standing behind what they portrayed their product as doing and changing it when they saw a chance to improve clarity of description.FIRST REVIEWReally disappointed. We bought this because it said “water proof”, but the neck piece attaches on top of, not under, the cap with gaping holes between the snaps. Water will simply channel off the cap through the holes and down the neck and back. This product makes no sense. Why not attach inside? Why have something water proof with gaps that channel the water onto the wearer’s neck and back? Will be returning this asap. If you want nothing but a sun shade, might be fine. But they really need to take any mention of “water proof” out of the description. Would have never bought it if I had realized how poorly designed it was.

As a professor I am bound to the grading scale. This hat receives an A+ for design, material selection and fabrication. This was the fourth hat I purchased in this style (baseball brim with neck flaps), and the first to provide all desired features: long enough brim for good face protection, long enough neck flaps to actually provide full coverage for the neck, and a neck strap to keep the hat on in higher winds.The addition of the button that helps keep the neck flap tight to the neck by securing it under the chin is a great feature. It doubles to allow the flap to be secured above the hat, too, when it is not needed.Additionally, the face mask, which is easily detached and attached via Velcro, works great in high-dust.The hat is very durable and well made. The four star rating for "lightweight" is not five stars because it is appropriately made with high-quality materials. It is very breathable and comfortable, even in hot work environments. I am currently using it in 110 + degrees fahrenheit temperatures.Oh, also, this is one of the few sun hats that actually protects adjustable portion in the back of the hat from the sun: the fabric actually covers the head as opposed to leaving that portion exposed to the sun.Highly recommended. Hope you enjoy it and find it as useful as I have.

Finally, I found a cap with a neck covered that is long enough to reach my tshirt.I have purchased other caps from Amazon and other retailers to stop me from getting sunburn when I work outside. None of them seem to completely cover the back of my neck.This cap provides about an inch overlap at the back of my neck.The only drawback is that the cap is a little small for my head. It does come with an adjustable chinstrap but any movement of my head causes the chinstrap to loosen and then the brim starts to move around.I can trade a little bit of comfort if I can avoid the sunburn while working outside.

Firstly, the workmanship is frankly subpar: the material inside the hat is just cut unevenly with scissors. Secondly, the rim of the hat sits very tight on my head, and my head is not big, while the circumference regulation at the back doesn't do much - a design flaw. Thirdly, it is hardly breathable - you will always be sweating. My advice is to stay away from this product.

I cannot give enough stars for this hat! Just received it today, within a few days of ordering it. My 77 yr. old father in law is starting radiation tomorrow, for head and neck cancer, and is not able to be exposed to the sun which is tough b/c he loves being outside. I went directly to Amazon to look around for something that would work best, and came upon this beauty. It is so perfect in every way. Super lightweight, great quality, the color is a perfect charcoal gray. The 2 separate panels detach easily to turn it into a comfy baseball cap. The back panel (that covers his neck on both sides/back) unbutton and the face cover is easily removed via velcro on both sides. It also has a drawstring to tighten it up around his chin. He is SOOOO happy, which makes me so incredibly happy. Perfect product for anyone in the same situation, or just for anyone who wants/needs full coverage while outside. What a bargain too!!!!

This headgear rivals the expensive brands that were very prevalent along the trail. I never used the front sunblocking "bandit" attachment, but had it in case the sun got too much. Good venting, double wall airspace bill, nice long panels, good graytone color, not too bright. Buy it.
