First inspection of the guitar I received showed several finish flaws and a poor job of attaching the strings at the rollers. A quick polish with a soft cloth removed all but one flaw, that being a little overzealous application of a file to smooth the fret ends leaving one small section of the fretboard edge discolored. Enough extra string was on the rollers to reattach them properly. Overall construction seems to be solid. The tuners were a bit stiff to start with, but time, and a little adjustment should resolve that. Frets are smooth, rounded and level. Measurement of the action shows it to be well within the classical guitar standard and a check of intonation shows it to be on the money. The nut and saddle appear to be plastic or synthetic at best. At this price point, I really wouldn't expect better. The bridge is slightly different than the one pictured, but no reason for detraction there. The sound is mellow, as expected from the solid cedar top. Will have to see how it develops as the wood opens up. A note to the uninitiated here, this is a solid wood instrument and as such, susceptible to extremes of humidity and temperature. Invest in a good case for protection and a hygrometer to monitor humidity levels. This is a beautiful guitar. The abalone inlay and detail of the rosette certainly make it stand out in the crowd. Check out other classical guitars with a solid cedar top and solid rosewood back and sides and you will find prices starting around $500. With the exception of the nut, saddle, and tuning machines, this one is comparable. It stands head and shoulders above most, if not all of it's neighbors at this price point. Will have to see how it holds up over time and I can only attest to the attributes of the instrument I received. That said, I feel fortunate I took the chance on this purchase and will update this review should I find the need to.

I purchased this back in 2014 when the price was $195. It is a beautiful guitar. There are several problems with mine but I am still very happy with my purchase. First, none of the solid rosewood is color matched. The sides are a stripy light brown color. The back is a dark brown with a lot of inky black splotches. Very beautiful but totally unmatched. The back centerline is out of alignment, just a guess that it was purposefully misaligned to avoid a flaw in the wood blank. Also, the thickness of the solid cedar top is significantly thicker than the other classical guitars that I own. It appears my guitar was made from unmatched wood. The guitar is nicely finished, the inlays are well done, the overall construction seems solid. This is still a good value at $295.
