I was surprised at the quality of this little scale. I also didn't read the instructions - just opened the battery cover, inserted the two supplied batteries and closed it up. The display showed all the 8888888s I waited, then touched the top of the scale, nothing. There was a little padlock icon in the top left corner of the display, I tried all choices of pressing the buttons, holding them down, both, one then the other. No change accept pressing the On/Off button did just that. Opened the booklet of instructions - good sign! They're in English, and readable. Flipped the scale over and moved the Lock/Unlock switch to Unlock! Duh!Ok, got past that. It's a really simple to use scale and the first that I have had in my kitchen. I've been using measuring cups & spoons for everythingI've been following the Great British Baking show and they measure in metric (still amazes me that Americans still use 'Imperial' measurements - think about it) The scale measures in lbs & ozs, Grams, Fl.oz. and Ml.My concern was 'does it allow addition and subtraction - ie. Can I put some flour into a bowl and then add more or remove some to get to the right weight? YES! Process is simple. Turn the scale on (press the button) Put bowl on the scale and press the zero button (it's also the on/off button) now the scale shows 0oz - Add some flour, it shows the amount, add some more and it updates the displayed amount, scoop out some flour from the bowl and the display correctly displays the new amount.Cool.The finish is very nice, it appears to be easy to clean (wipe down with damp cloth) and does not take up much counter top. It arrived on time and was well packed.

Very easy to use; I love the zero setting so you can first calibrate for the container and then weigh the contents. Great value for the money.

I have a set of calibrated test weights which say that this scale is pretty accurate, especially in the low end. (400 grams or less) the measurements became ever so slightly off as the weight increased as follows:10g = 10g50g = 50g100g = 100g400g = 400g450g = 451g500g = 501g1000g = 1002g2000g = 2004g3000g = 3006g4000g = 4009g5000g = 5008g

I've had this scale one month now and put it through a number of tests. The battery, unlike on other scales is still going strong. I had a scale I previously bought that needed battery changes every fifth day. Also, what I love about it is the easy read out display and how the scale defaults back to Zero when pressed once. However, the best feature for me is to weigh several items and setting the scale back to Zero before adding the second; third or forth ingridient to the recipe or whatever you are weighing. This eliminates having to weigh each item separately Well worth the price.

Ok ... I'm impressed. I wanted a scale that would accommodate a need to weigh different foods (for meals) to determine Vitamin K content (that I have from the USDA per 100g) to match with some Vitamin K monitored medical requirements. Plus or mimis a few grams wouldn't have been a problem; but when I piled on 77.00g in Canadian coins (the mint publishes their weight), the scale showed 77g. I imagine that there will be some variation in what gets shipped, but mine is accurate within +/- 0.5g.at 77.00g.When I was doing my research, lots of other digital scale products had complaints about short battery life, but not this one, and that tipped the scale (you might say) in this Accuweight scale's favour for me. I wasn't disappointed. Last week, my scale let me know that the batteries were low. At that point the scale had been been making multiple measurements at each of 3 or 4 times per day, for 20 weeks.rjc

What can I say ? This is a very well built kitchen scale ! accurate to 1 gram, which is what you need when measuring small amounts of ingredients. The scale is well built, and feels very solid. It's a great choice if you want to purchase a good quality scale. The top is real glass and is easy to wash. It's well built and the LED display is LARGE and very EASY to read ! something many will appreciate ! I'd give this more than 5 stars if I could. I am somebody who is very picky about products and their build quality and I give this top rating of 5 stars.

Je ne cesse d'acheter des balances de cuisine et le problème revient toujours au même. ça fonctionne bien au début et après plus rien n'est juste dans les pesées. Je change les piles mais rien ne change. À la longue cela devient très coûteux d'en racheter .Je viens de la recevoir et tout de suite j'ai fait l'essai et tout fonctionne à merveille. Pour chaque chose que j'ai pesé , de suite le poids a changé mais qu'elle bonheur enfin d'en avoir une qui fonctionne bien. je verrais avec le temps si elle fonctionne toujours aussi bien.Pour moi Starfrit c'est terminé car j'ai toujours eu des problèmes. J'ai du en racheter je ne sais combien de fois .Voilà je pense avoir trouvé la bonne. il y a beaucoup de bons commentaires c'est pour cela que je l'ai choisit. Elle est robuste, belle et pour 5kg c'est parfait.Les deux pilles AAA fournies avec la balance je ne pense pas qu'elles soient de bonnes qualités mais sa fonctionne très bien.Je l'ai reçu en deux jours. Je suis satisfaite de mon achat. Je reviendrais faire un autre commentaire si quelque chose n'allait plus.
