My cats love it.
Assembly was relatively easy. Tall enough for small- to medium-sized cats. Sturdy design -- my two cats have been using it daily for several months, and it's held up well. They don't care so much about the dangling piece, but they seem to really like the sisal rope, and it shows very little wear (unlike carpet). Would buy again.

Cat loves this. Went right for it and now hangs around it like an old friend.
It has a wide base to keep it sturdy. It may be a bit flimsy for a huge cat, but my mid-sized cat really tears into it with no lasting damage or deterioration. I like that it is simple and out of the way, unlike large towers and posts - and the cat is satisfied.

Our kitten loves his post. Now his training begins.
The rope is thinner than previous post we had for our older felines, but this works just fine for our 12-week old kitten and I think it will be fine as he grows older -- this is a solid post with very tightly packed rope. He attacks it full force and so far there are no issues with it moving, even on a smooth floor. So far, so good. Installation: A hex wrench is included (along with the needed hardware), so no other tools are needed for assembly. A simple diagram of how to assemble the post is included. Some folks seemed to have trouble with the installation. The post comes in two pieces. If you start the two-sided screw in the bottom post (the top post has the carpet), then put the middle fuzzy piece on, then screw the top post to the bottom one, you will get a very firm fit (you have lots of leverage using the two posts to tighten). Open the base and place it on your legs while seated in a chair (the bottom of the base is on your legs). Fit the remaining screw, with washer, through the whole in the base and screw on what is now one, assembled post. Once you get the screw started, turn the whole thing over and tighten with the included hex wrench.

Good value, but slow shipping
Shipping was free, but delivery was the second week of March for a January 30th order, including some delays. That aside, the scratching post assembled easily enough and seems reasonably sturdy. Two of my three cats were confused by it at first (the first started scratching before I'd finished assembly), but they quickly realized what it was for once I sprinkled some catnip on it. In comparison to other scratchers I've had, the carpet at the base seems a little cheaper and thinner, so it may not hold up as well. The rope seems standard. For the price, this is a very good value, and even better if the shipping is a little faster.

Cats Are Pleased
Cats can be fussy, but there are also things that please them. One of those is this great scratching post. It is wrapped in heavy, natural sisal which your cat will not wear out. It is high enough that even a larger cat is comfortable reaching high for a long, back stretching scratch. The post is securely mounted on a very sturdy base. This scratching post looks like, well, a scratching post, but the texture and color is such that you don’t have to put it out of sight—from guests or your cat. The price is very reasonable and the packaging is well done. Highly recommended.

Good Find
Easy to assemble...my one cat adores its and will even sleep on the carpet that it stands on. She loves the sisal poles and the hanging balls too. My other cat is OK with it but she is not the catcher the first cat is. Hopes it helps wiht stopping her from scratching the furniture!

Well made, sturdy cats love
Bought two, cats love them. They are sturdy, standing full length my medium size cat does not knock it over. Two cats using them and they hold up really well!! Very good product, highly recommend!

My cats do use it some!
This scratching post could use a heavier wooden base. I picked it because it was tall, but that did lead to a less sturdy post (which means the couch is still their preference). They LOVE the fuzzies on top and in the middle, one of my cats just chomped at it for a while (which was cute and harmless). They really enjoy jumping on top of it, and it makes for a great prop when playing with wand toys! I’ve also taken to putting their stuffed toys atop it, the cats don’t allow toys to remain up there for long and it’s quite cute. The lack of sturdiness isn’t really the fault of the post— it’s as sturdy as it can be for its dimensions. I may wind up cutting a custom base for it, and reinforcing the bond between the post and the board (so it wiggles less?).It was pretty much as expected.
