I bought this gaiter to help keep bugs like mosquitoes from getting in my nose and mouth while working in the field. It works, but it's not my favorite. The material gets hard to breathe in once the temp gets over 75F, and it's a bit too snug on my head to pull over my ears for any added protection. I also got some snags immediately upon the first day of use, but it seems to be holding up decently after that.

The name of the product leads you to believe it is made out of silk but it's really just regular old polyester like all the others. However the high price is what would be charged for a silk item. Other vendors have similar products in a pack of six for this price. I would have kept it but it was hot and breathing through it has a synthetic smell.

Fabric is very thin and not particularly stretchy. Edge binding had some stretch but is too big and feels like it won't stay in place. Definitely could not be used as Coronavirus mask or for any active activity. I'll send this back.

This is surprisingly breathable, effectively moisture wicking, lightweight, and comfortable. It basically delivers exactly what it promises.

Bought balaclava to wear to Vietnam and Cambodia to keep bugs and sun off my neck.
