Color isn’t as pictured
I picked this filament for the deep red color in the picture. However it is bright red not like the red that is pictured.

The material worked great!
The material worked well. I printed a globe to go inside the Half Life battery. The light you see is from my cell phone shining thru two layers that are 1.2mm thick each. I printed .3mmx.4mm layers and it looked great when I was done. The only issue I had was with the material setting in the printer overnight. When I looked the next day the material had broken in 3 locations, possibly where there was some strain from straightening it out from the spool.

Good Filament!
This filament is very good indeed. I’ve used 4 colors of XYZ filament in my DaVinci Jr. I made this spool holder to get it to feed the large rolls. Every filament works well. I haven’t had a single problem and I’ve made a lot of prints. Would recommend

Ok for non functional pieces, but otherwise very brittle
Very stringy filament. The box says to print at 210c but it oozes and strings awfully even at 200. 190 is the only way to print it with half decent quality. I like the matte look, but otherwise avoid unless you get get it at a really low price. Way too fragile.

Tangles
Good quality filament. Unfortunately it tangles so frequently I cannot leave it unattended. The yellow I purchased didnt seem to have this problem. I assume that means it varies from roll to roll

I’m new to this (Da Vinci mini w+)
I’m new to 3d printing but compared to the stock filament that came in the box, it’s like night and day.

Good printer, BAD COMPANY!
AVOID XYZ Printing!Unfortunately, I have to warn people to avoid this company.THE GOOD:I LOVE my Da Vinci Mini W. It is a GREAT starter printer, and I have been very happy with it. The printer does a very nice job.THE BAD:As many other reviewers have pointed out, they have a proprietary filament that you must use with this printer. It's a little more pricey than others, but not terrible. In my opinion, well worth the tradeoff.Unfortunately, I have ran into a bad problem. I bought a spool of black filament with my printer. It has worked great for about 5 weeks. I started a print, and sat down to watch TV when I heard my printer making a weird noise. I went to check, and noticed that it was printing the test strip on the side over and over. It would not print the model. I rebooted the printer, rebooted the software, tried a different model, cleaned the extruder, calibrated the printer, and nothing worked. It just would not print anything. I switched out the filament to a red filament, and it worked just fine. I works fine with the white, blue, and yellow also. It is just the spool of black filament that has failed, with 53m of filament left (1/4 of the spool).I went to the XYZ webpage and sent them a customer service ticket, to which I got an email reply that my ticket was received and they would reply within 3 days. 2 weeks later, I called (this morning). The gentleman on the other end of the phone said because it's over 30 days, they won't do anything and that I should try to get a refund through Amazon. So, let's get this straight: this printer MUST use their proprietary spool (you have no other options), and if you don't discover a problem with that spool of filament within 30 days of buying it, they will do nothing. I print A LOT on my printer, primarily with the black, and it has taken me two months to get it down to 1/4 remaining. Now, it won't print with the rest of this filament, and they say it's not their problem. If there were another option for filament to use, I would not care. As it is, my first spool of filament to get down to 1/4 has failed. So, in my experience, I can look forward to throwing away 1/4 of each spool unless I use it within 30 days.Based on this, I will warn people to avoid XYZ Printing. I wish I could give this printer great reviews, because it's a great printer. Unfortunately, they are going to rob you with the filament. You have to buy their more expensive filament, which (in my experience) will fail when it gets down to 1/4. Unless you burn through 200 meters of filament in 30 days (good luck with that), you will be outside of the window in which they will help. So you're gambling money by using XYZ Printing.UPDATE: after a few months of messages back and forth on their customer support portal, and a few videos posted to YouTube, they finally decided that the chip had gone bad in the spool, and sent me a new chip. This was a huge hassle for 50m of filament, just because the chip failed.

Free the people
The product is like any other pla, the only difference being that you’re only able to use this with xyz jr / mini. Which is a shame. Most people who get into 3d printing like the control of open source. Xyz have chosen a very limited group of people who like the ease of printing, but as most 3d printer users know. It’s never easy. There’s always problems and issues you need to overcome to even begin to understand the complexity of printing different things for different applications. The machines would be so much better if people were allowed to use whatever filament they wanted, and more choice of how to control temp, speed and feeds etc, with a little more help from xyz, people could learn how to build and rebuild to make printers better and prints cleaner and smoother, stronger etc.At the moment xyz machines are very limited. And the price of their pla is high to say that it’s an average printing filament.People want freedom, and with your help they could be.Frankenvinci was the only way I could afford to control my printer and I’ve made it 100% better than the initial product was, with the freedom to use any pla I choose.Come on guys, make it open source. Get rid of the rfid chips and help people bring 3d printing into their home at an affordable price. After answering an email from xyz which promised a free spool of filament or 10£ voucher for simply writing a review on their product, I was told I had to review the printer, which I actually bought on ebuyer. So I didn’t receive any free filament, and I only bought this filament to make the review. They never answered my reply...This company doesn’t care for their existing customers. Check all reviews before buying from xyz.

Best filament ....but!
Having had a Davinci Jnr for 6 months now, couldn't be happier , and this white is easily the best quality I have used, and I have used them all.Yes the terrible DRM is atrocious really, it's not the fact you have to use there filament it's the fact that every single time your left with filament on every spool, and it's not cheap. What I have finally done to combat this , is actually buy another 3D printer, you may say accessive, but anyone into 3D printing knows how addictive it can be.also the fact the other printer is a Fabrikator mini, and cost only £126, in the long run,I'm able to use all my spare filament.I still think XYZ should release some kind of firmware to release that filament, and tbh I honestly don't see why they don't just unlock it, and make there filament competitive, I'd still buy it.But I will say this, I have seen many other prints from way more expensive machines....this printer and filament give me stunning quality prints.Yes the filament has a tendency to get stuck occasionally, but it's a small price to pay for the quality I get, I do a lot of models, gaming items, and my results are because if this white.Just the best colour for the printer.

Good quality, color a little closer to purple than expected
The quality of the filament is excellent (I’m using a DaVinci Jr. 1.0) ! The color is blue but more like a deep / purpleish color then the blue showed in the picture ! Personally I prefer it like this (I thought it could be too flashy). As you can see here the classic 3DBenchy and a Star Trek tricorder that I 3D Printed !Packaging was excellent everything was perfect !

cheap PLA and the colour is good, but..
the plastic tends to curl at corners when being laid on a cold bed. I have not been able to test on a heated bed, but for those that do not have one I would go with something else, unless you just want a spool to prototype or draft. I have not had this issue with any other colour of XYZ spools, though I may just be unlucky with the spool I received. For the price though, handy to have.

Poor quality - constant slipping and jamming (when other filaments in same machine don't)
Very poor quality filament. Constantly slips in the feeder and ends up jamming extruder nozzle. Shame, I love my DaVinci Jr. and have had no issue with other XYZ filaments. Perhaps I was just unlucky and received a bad one. Happy to try again with another one however to give it another chance, as occasional bad batches aren't the end of the world.Surface of filament feels a little bit bobbly. Manufacturing defect, perhaps?
