Classic Home & Garden 11006-VG Dorset Water Fountain, Verdigris

The media could not be loaded. The fountain came in a plain cardboard box about 3x3x2. It was packed in styrofoam forms. The instructions are on one piece of paper and show a few small not terribly clear pictures. The written information is in English but seems like it was poorly translated from another language. Nevertheless, I found it relatively easy to assemble, but I do have another fountain so I'm generally familiar with how they work. You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the hose clamp. I had it extricated, assembled, filled, and flowing in less than 30 minutes. My other fountain has four small diameter pools that attract lots of birds daily, but are not shallow enough for hummers. I'm hoping this fountain will entice the many hummingbirds that frequent my feeders. I have seen several videos showing them enjoying ball fountains. As you can see, the water-covered ball is a deep mossy green in the shade, while the dry base reminds me of the color of lichens, kind of a pale blue with olive colored streaks. Also, the base is tapered wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, which isn't always obvious in some of the photos. There is also an adjustable water flow dial on the pump hose and some special shims if you can't get it level for an even cascade. The fountain material feels and sounds like ceramic or fired clay, and it's not too heavy. However I would not want to drop either piece or knock it over because I'm pretty sure it would chip and/or fracture. I've read that it requires a lot of refilling, but so does my other fountain, so we'll see. So far, I am pleased with this fountain and hope the hummers find it soon.

This is a very nice product. The water reserve is a bit small, but the fountain looks outstanding. I added height to obtain the effect i was looking for in replacing my prior defunct fountain of a larger size. Overall, excellent purchase for the price.

Absolutely gorgeous, but the pump has died in less than a year. I am diligent about keeping it full, so it did not dry out. Very disappointed the pump died in less than 12 months even though I take very good care of the fountain. Photo is from last month before the pump died this week.

Gorgeous fountain, love the color. I took off one star because it’s not very loud.

Beautiful fountain but arrived without the water pump. I had read other reviews describing the same issue. You would think the supplier would check the boxes before shipping, since this seems to be a reoccurring problem. Now I have to wait until another replacement fountain arrives and hope it is complete. Packing this heavy fountain up and hauling it to UPS for return is also a big inconvenience. I will update my review once replacement arrives.

The pump seems to clog frequently so that’s a nuisance. Not sure if it’s just not enough power to keep clean and clear or what. It’s located under a covered porch area, so I wouldn’t think it would get so slimy so quickly. Also requires to be filled often due to size.

I have no hesitation using these in a commercial setting. easy to adjust the water flow, the pump is easliy replacable if it burns out. They even provide shims to help you level it.
