Buy The Bastard: 1 (Filthy Trilogy) by Jones, Lisa Renee (ISBN: 9781731114464) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: A fanbloodytastic read!!!! - Now, you know when you're a reader of LRJ's work that she is invariably gonna leave you with one helluva cliffhanger when you're at the end of a book in a duet or trilogy, but even knowing that it's gonna happen, I'm still a hairs breadth from chucking my kindle at a wall when it does!!! That said, the build up to this CH was one hell of a ride. I FLOVED The Bastard. We'd met Eric Mitchell in the Dirty Rich series as he is the friend and colleague of Grayson but it was great reading his own story. Eric and Harper have a history but haven't, for various reasons, seen each other for a lot of years. Will their attraction be the same, will the Princess still want the Bastard or is there an ulterior motive to her reaching out to him?? As we've come to expect with the recent books in the Dirty Rich series from Lisa Renee Jones The Bastard was packed full of intrigue, mystery, twists and turns, twisted loyalties, secrets and lies and of course heat, sexual tension and some serious down and dirty times. I was gripped from the very first page and literally got no sleep as I could not put this book down. Just as I thought I might have a tad of an idea about what was going on or who might be doing what another spanner was thrown into the works and I was turned around yet again! Ms Jones is one helluva story weaver and I know going into one of her stories that it's gonna be a rollercoaster ride of emotions and feelings and that I'll feel like I've been through the wringer by the time I'm done - it's fabulous!!! I cannot wait to see how things turn out in The Princess A fanbloodytastic 5* read!!! Review: Good read - Really enjoyed this book, lots of twists and turns.

HOLY CLIFFHANGER
Wow, I absolutely hate cliffhangers and should have done my research on this before I got it, as I now have to wait 2 months!! I don't read cliffhangers for this extremely frustrating reason.... all said, this book is extremely good, it took some thinking whilst reading it, and I got to a point where I was actually questioning my own intelligence... Eric is an extremely intelligent man, and at times I struggled to keep up with him, but when I came to the crunch, I couldn't put this book down. So if you are like me and do not like cliffhangers, definitely wait until the next book come out to read it

Good story could be better
Enjoyed this book, but the author uses the title far to much. I think they could have used other ways to describe the characters standing with in the family and his /their belief. Poor writing on that part, but the story is very good.

Fantastic story!
This is the first book l have read by this author and I have to say, I was totally hooked from the start. I loved the main Characters, Harper and Eric, their chemistry just sizzled off the page. What I also loved about this book was that it was such a good story, full of mystery and excitement. I have now just finished the second book, The Princess and I can’t wait to read the next one. I can easily say I have found a new favourite author ❤️

Fab!!
The B*stard was a fabulous read. As it was such an enthralling and intriguing story. That was full of hate, secrets, and lies. As well as great characters who were not only entertaining and engaging. But bursting with chemistry and I was completely hooked throughout and can't wait to get my hands on The Princess and find out what happens next. So roll on January!!! Would highly recommend :)

Lisa Renee Jones is an amazing storyteller, she demonstrates once more her ability to weave together gripping storylines with powerful emotional complexity. Another heart-stealer for sure and I can't wait to read the second part of this duet. Overall rating : 4.5 stars!

OMG, I knew it was going to end on a good cliffhanger but that was a whopper. This is the first in the Filthy Duet and it is one roller coaster ride that will leave your head spinning. Eric Mitchell was raised by a single mother and found out before she died that his father is a rich man that doesn't know he exist. But she wants him to know his father before she dies. The family doesn't want anything to do with him and they let him know it real quick. His father only wants him around to gets his half-brother to do what he wants. They only want to use Eric. So Eric leaves and makes it on his own until he comes back under the pretense they want him back, but he knows better. At the fancy party he meets Harper, his new step-sister. The sparks between them almost burn the place down. One night together or just a little time and their world's are linked together without them realizing it. Harper knew a little about Eric but she didn't think he would have the control over her mind and body as he does. When they spend a little time together at the party and he leaves, she feels the loss. He makes her feel alive while the rest of the Kingston men are slimy and she can't stand to be around them. She has to stay at Kingston Motors to save her own fathers legacy. Years later she goes to Eric for help to save the family business. She tries to convince him she isn't using him but she doesn't tell him everything. Eric came back to save Harper and bring her back to New York but he feels as if she is holding something from him. He will not stay if there is lies and secrets between them. Will Harper tell him the truth and he leaves anyway? Can Eric trust her to tell him the truth in her own time? Will his father, Gigi and Isaac destroy him, the company or both? I was glued to every page and couldn't put my kindle down. I need more NOW! If you haven't read anything from Lisa Renee Jones, start with this one, you will not be disappointed and you will be hooked. She has a way of pulling you into a story that is filled with suspense, heartache, enemies, lovers, intrigue and leave you on a roller coaster of emotions. You will be drained and love every minute of it. Bring on The Princess, I need to know how it ends. **I received a free copy of this book to read and review and this is my honest opinion**

3.75-4 STARS In this first installment to author Lisa Renee Jones’ Filthy Duet, “The Bastard” is Eric Mitchell’s story—the ex-Navy Seal-turned-billionaire and right-hand man to fellow billionaire, Grayson Bennett, who was first introduced to readers in this author’s Dirty Rich series. Boasting a familiar character and a compelling premise that can be easily classified as a romantic suspense, “The Bastard” reunites Eric with “The Princess” that has dominated his thoughts for the last 6 years—his step-sister, Harper. Walking away from Harper wasn’t easy for Eric, but walking away from his highly toxic family was. And while they are not related by blood, to Eric, Harper was clearly “one of them.” An observation that Eric was hard-pressed to ignore. Fast forward 6 years, and Harper lands on Eric’s doorstep, begging for his help. There’s something nefarious brewing in the family business, and Harper is desperate to save it. Eric, however, is rightly suspicious of Harper’s motives. But trust is a two-way street, and it doesn’t come readily to either one. Still, Eric feels compelled to fly to Denver for the woman he continually craves, despite his reluctance to trust her fully. There’s no doubt that the chemistry between Eric and Harper is simply off the charts! And while the story’s suspense element is what initially drew me in, the repetitive dialogue between Eric and Harper became a source of annoyance. Round and round they would go, circling the familiar theme, never making any headway. As for the cliffhanger ending, I saw that one coming early on. Still, the underlying mystery was intriguing enough to get me hooked and will undoubtedly have me coming back for more. My only hope is that the second half to Eric and Harper’s tumultuous journey will be less repetitive and more action-based, propelling the story forward to a satisfying conclusion.

Eric is ex Navy Seal. tattooed and wealthy. He is also the bastard son of wealthy Jeff Kingston and spare heir to the family fortune though the ahs spent his entire life being shunned by the family and vows to have nothing to do with them. That is until Harper comes seeking help. They had a passionate history. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
