The media could not be loaded.  We use a combination of wood chips and black sand. I think we prefer black because it’s more aesthetically pleasing to me lol But it’s also great for our tortoise!

I mixed this with a purple bag and a white bag as well and it made this nice pearly color for my uromastyx!!

I used this in my fresh water fish tank.

The sand is pretty, easy enough to clean (for sand), and had good odor neutralizing properties. I just wasn’t aware that calcium sand wasn’t good for reptiles, especially the ones I take care of before they go off to forever homes (or are rehabbed until release)- As a product, great, but as a choice... Maybe not the best.

It says the sand is digestible and could prevent impaction I noticed every time he we lick around in his cage he would get mouthfuls of sand he became impacted it was so severe he had paralysis on all four legs after $500 vet bill and he literally almost died after sand only being in his tank 3 days soon as I removed it after hegot better and had no problems I just have a carpet in there now to scare to use substrate again please do not use this product if you have a bearded dragon

I bought this for the tank of my son's desert tortoise. It's the basic sand, so there's not really anything special or wrong with it.The package was unopened, and the sand didn't smell like something other than what it was supposed to smell like.All in all, I'll probably buy it again when it's time.

I ordered the black sand it said black looked black in the bag when I poured it out with the blue it was clearly a chocolate brown color and not black I love the blue and green sand I got and the other works it's just mixed in now and it will be to hard to separate it back out again I just wish the black was really black and not brown!
