Excellent Workbook for Building Confidence and Skills!
The School Zone Big First Grade Workbook is an amazing resource for helping kids strengthen their foundational skills and stay ahead in school. I got this for my nephew after he finished kindergarten, and it’s been the perfect next step. The book covers a wide range of topics, reading comprehension, phonics, spelling, vocabulary, basic math, time, money, and even simple fractions, all presented in a fun and engaging way. The activities are colorful and well-organized, keeping him interested and motivated to keep learning. I love that it mixes challenge with encouragement, nothing feels too hard, but each page builds confidence and reinforces what he’s learning in class. The paper quality and illustrations are great, and it’s thick enough to last through months of use. It’s also a wonderful tool for summer learning or after-school practice, helping kids stay sharp without feeling pressured. ✅ Helpful tip: Do a few pages at a time and celebrate progress, it keeps kids excited and proud of their accomplishments! Overall, this is a high-quality, educational, and affordable workbook that truly supports early learning success. Highly recommend for any first grader!

This book is FUN!
I LOVE this book! It's so much fun! I homeschool my 5yo, and I've bought many different brands of workbooks. This one is my favorite. Each page is a fun kind of puzzle, and my son loves working in it. There are crosswords and word finds. Other pages have you answer questions to find the right letters to answer a riddle at the bottom of the page. The pages are colorful and fun. I love the opportunities for him to practice writing. We just finished the Handwriting without Tears book, and this is a great next step to help him keep practicing. Love this!

Perfect for bridging or supplementing
Bought this for the kiddo as a supplement for his current grade/class studies. Perfect for weekends, times without homework, travelling and dining out as a meaningful educational activity. You can also use this in summers as a prep for their grade. The spiral binding seals the deal as it can be opened to a single page for focusing and space reasons. They cover all the topics from spelling, vocabulary , sentence structure, math through puzzles, logic and small 'assignments'. Each page takes a few minutes and even when it's "easy" it still reinforces learning, and is not 'boring'. We set smaller quotas of completion each day, that with the fun and reinforcement, easily exceed that goal each day. Absolutely worth the investment.

Covers Most Topics Well
Great resource for my second grader. It’s detailed and easy for kids to follow. A few areas could use improvement, but overall, I’m happy with this purchase but price is high so deducting 1 star.

It helped a lot and she liked the activities!
This worked well for my inbound 1st grader over the summer. She’s normally stubborn about doing workbook pages, but she was excited about the compelling activities and pictures. She liked solving puzzles by practicing her math and English, and I saw her skills improving as she moved through the sections.
