Everythign You Need To Know About RaceFace Crank Boots

CARBON CRANK BOOTS (this is the version you will receive if ordering here). This is the MEDIUM SIZE boot cover. The carbon crank boot covers are compatible with:- Next SL Cinch (G3)- Sixc Cinch- Chester- Respond- Next/Next SL (24mm Spindle)- Sixc (24mm Spindle)- Also, most other popular carbon MTB cranks and assorted alloy DH cranksThe carbon crank boots are sold under the following part numbers based on color selection. The part number will be printed on a sticker affixed to the package you receive so you can verify what you received.A10066GRY = greyA10066BLU = blueA10066RED = redA10066TURQ = turquoiseA10066YEL = yellowA10066GRN = greenA10066PIN = pinkA10066ORA = orangA10066BLK = black3. ALLOY CRANK BOOTThis is the SMALL SIZE boot cover. The alloy crank boot covers are compatible with:- Turbine Cinch- Atlas Cinch- Atlas (24mm Spindle)- Turbine (24mm Spindle)- Aeffect Cinch (175mm length ONLY)- Also, most other popular alloy MTB cranks (except some alloy DH cranksets)The alloy crank boots are sold under the following part numbers based on color selection. However, they are all made from the same material, so I am giving five stars for quality of product.I installed the Alloy Crank Boots (size small) on my Stumpjumper which has Aeffect cranks. They fit good. The only thing I noticed is that the hole were you put your Allen key is a little off, but the boot cover is playable enough that I was able to install it with no problem.

Functional and Stylish
These things are pretty useful. I started to see some wear and tear on the ends of my cranks and decided to give these a try. In addition to protecting the crank ends from rock strikes, they add a bit of color to an area of the bike that doesn't have much of that. I gave 4 stars only because they do not fit snugly right off of the bat. If you heat them up (in boiling water or with a heat gun-careful not to melt) you can put them on the cranks and then dip them in ice cold water and they will shrink to form perfectly to your particular cranks. I would definitely suggest them to any and all Mountain Bikers that spend any amount of time in rocky terrain.

Put grease under mine.
I like them. Based on the reviews here, I put a bit of Park Tool grease under mine to protect it from the gunk that can build up under it. I definitely recommend getting a color to add flare or visibility.

Really Cheap - Won't Hold Up
I put these on my SRAM Stylo Eagle cranks. They fit a little loose, but good enough. I lost the left one on the first ride. A couple of crank strikes on rocks (technical terrain), and I noticed that it was gone after the ride. If they won't hold up to crank strikes, what good are they? They're made of pretty cheap plastic - like they kind found on a cheap Dollar Store toy. I would totally avoid.

RaceFace A10066BLK Crank Boot Protector, Black.>>FITS NEXT R CRANKS!<<
I just purchased a new bike with RaceFace Next R carbon cranks, and wanted a crank boot protector for the cranks. So I checked the RaceFace website and they don't list a crank boot for the "NEXT R" cranks. I was going to call them to see if one of the other boots would work or not, but no phone number on the website. So I sent a email to customer service a week ago...no reply. Also I could not find any info on the inter web to confirm if any boots would fit. So I took a chance and ordered this set of boots, and BOOM they fit... perfectly! (see photos) If you have the RaceFace Next R cranks, do not hesitate to order these boots. I hope RaceFace will read this and update the their website so other Next R crank owners will be informed.

Not for FSA gamma pro
I’ve tried every available size they sell for my FSA gamma pro cranks on my 2018 Trek Stache 5. None of them fit, I’ve tried 4 sets. I’m moving on from race face products anyway, I’ve gone through their lock on grips, pedals and now these and I can say that I’m not impressed. If you appreciate the best components for your bike nothing race face makes will satisfy you. It’s a budget brand imo and amazon sells comprible products for half the price of RF that work and look exactly the same.

Protect Your Crank
Great idea & nice product that provides protection at a reasonable price. The Race Face Crank Boot Protector was very easy to install. My MTB has a Shimano M341 crank set, the crank boot is a tight fit, but overall was an easy install. Just had to remove the pedal, slide the boot on the end of the crank, then reinstall the pedal. I took this opportunity to clean an add new anti seize to the pedal threads. The black boot is really unnoticeable at the end of my black cranks. So if you want a bit of highlight on your bike, you may want a contrasting or accent color for the boot to stand out. The crank boot material, at first impression, seems like it will be durable. With these on, I’m pretty confident they’ll protect the ends of my cranks from roots & rocks while on the trails. If you’re looking to protect your cranks &/or want to customize your ride, you can’t go wrong w/RaceFace Crank Boot Protectors.

Don't buy for Shimano Cranks
I took a chance on these, I have Shimano MT-610 cranks. They fit on the cranks but are too big, so I filled them with hot glue to seal up around the crank. It works okay, but I didn't press the cap on hard enough to move all the hot glue out of the way and now the pedal spindle pinches the crank cap. The caps themselves seem good and obviously are not made for Shimano cranks. I may get another set later and try this again to fit the cap all the way onto the crank arm. For now, I will leave them on because they look great on my bike.

Check your fitment
Bought this to fit on my merida with Shimano Deore 20speed cranks well they don't 2mm gap either side. However they do fit my sora R3000 cranked gravel bike so not a complete waste. Road cranks chunkier than mtb ones

Great protection.
If you (like me) have a low bottom bracket position, then these are perfect for saving your crank ends from damage. Easy to fit, cheap to replace, what's not to like?

Perfect fit on SRAM Force 1 cranks!
As per the headline, they fit perfectly on SRAM Force 1 cranks. Prob unneccessary on a gravel bike, but better safe than sorry?!

Fits Quarq Riken carbon arms just fine
Fits my Quarq Riken 10R carbon cranks perfectly, no need for stretching, cutting, or faffing around with hairdryers or heat guns to get it to fit.
