Good for my 10yr old as a stand alone phone/text
This phone is good for why I bought this smart watch, which is for a stand alone phone so our 10yr old son can call & text us and we can call & text him. I DO NOT want to pair my cell phone with this smart watch—RESULT: Successful, achieved what I need it to do.We looked at other smart watches dedicated to kids, but they looked too baby-ish and bulky. Before purchasing this smart watch, I read reviews associated with this particular generic/inexpensive smart watch as well as other generic ones like it. Therefore, I did the following in order to have useful/successful outcome of this purchase:-as soon as I got smartwatch, I immediately charged it while I was activating SIM and what I needed to do.-SIM cardpurchased a SpeedTalkMobile GSM mobile SIM card via Amazon (SD comes with this phone). This way this smart watch can be used as a stand alone phone. I activated the SIM card before putting into the back of the smart watch. I did not setup the APN that’s listed on the packaging of SIM card (didn’t need to do this, smart watch works without APN setup — don’t know what this is and don’t know where to setup on this smart watch anyway). Once you activate the SIM card, go speedtalkmobile.com and set up your account (bottom of screen, select “Customer Info.” When I purchased the SIM card on Amazon, I purchased the $9 30-Day Service Unlimited SMS + 500 Talk & 500 MB Data—it’s a 2G 3G 4G LTE Data, micro nano. I have Autorefill setup do I don have to remember to go on speedtalkmobile.com to pay. However, I do have to remember to load money on eGift card before it runs out. Side note, this eGift expires in 2028.PHONE NUMBER: I received a number based on my zip codeACTIVATION TIME: I activated online around 1pm-ish and by 4pm-ish I received a text on the smartwatch that it was now activated with the new cell phone number.-eGift cardpurchased Vanilla eGift Virtual card via Walmart (reloadable eGift cards on Amazon have bad reviews). This way, I do not have to use my normal debit/credit card to pay the monthly service I’ll use from the SIM card. After you purchase card, go to Vanilla eGift card website and set up account so you can load money on it in order to pay for monthly phone service on smart watch.-Smart watchAfter you activate smartwatch and receive text that is now activated, put SIM card in back of watch. First time, I time I opened it, I used my fingernail...next time I used a flathead screwdriver....gentle enough not to damage, but enough force to open one side the pull open rest with my fingernail (you do what works for you). Please see attached image where to lay SIM cad and SD card. The big silver plate lifts up, you lay SIM card here and re-shut silver case (whatever you want to call it). HEADS UP- when you detach SIM card from plastic in comes in, DO NOT detach for the smallest size... DO detach it for the middle size. The SD card that comes with smartwatch gets slid into slot next to SIM silver thingy. Put the cover back on watch.-again, as soon as I received smartwatch, I charged it.Turn in smartwatch by holding down button on the side. See image attached to see how texts are typed into smartwatch. There are two icons within the smartwatch to access phone, use the phone icon that is near the calendar....the other phone icon gives you a message you have to put in a SIM card. ALSO you can make phone call by main screen that says “Menu” When you press the button “Menu” put in the contacts/numbers so that you can easily call.If I have additional updates, I’ll type it.++11/27/19 Update++I’m really liking this smartwatch for my son. Since I have not linked it to my cell phone, there are no other distractions...he calls/text and we call/text him.-BatteryIt lasts him throughout his busy day (school/orchestra/swim practice) and he charges it at night. It looks as though he does have some charge left at bedtime. I don’t know how long it could actually go without charging—I guess he’s just got into habit of charging it over night.-Time/DayIt’s hard to tell what’s am or pm, so had to set time twice. The first time the time/day were set, the day advanced too soon so that’s how I knew when it was an/pm. I changed it to correct day and that helped determined whether it was am or on (crazi, I know). I did not use that section that had a bunch of pre-fill “12:00”...didn’t touch it. I did however select “12 hour” type of time within another section.-TextsThe text key pad is like the buttons on a telephone (see attached pic)—where each number key represents a letter. Yes, this is a pain, but actually forces him to text what is necessary. He doesn’t mind because he appreciates having a device to send text whereas before he had nothing (no phone).-CallsMakes and receives call very well. You are able to turn up volume. When you place/receive call, there is a volume icon, press this button.-SoundYou can put on vibrate or change sounds/tones-Guide bookletThe guide booklet that comes with it, the words are so TINY I had to use my son’s magnifying glass to read it—for real! It didn’t help all that much anyway. I would still say read it for what you can get from it. You will need a magnifying glass (no joke).-SD cardSoon he will be loading music on the sd card, we’ll see what’s up with that... I’ll update on that when he makes time for it.Hopefully, this long drawn-out review will help parents who are considering getting for their child...I can’t speak to the features when it is linked with a cell phone.++12/20/19 update++Watch bandThe band is very similar to Apple smartwatch band. It is not a traditional type watch band. It’s kinda unusual, but it stays put and is not uncomfortable or in the way. It’s just a bit more to figure out for a kid. My son puts it through loop sort of half way, then slides it on his wrist, then tightens it up once it’s on his wrist. I did research to buy another inexpensive/no-name swatch that has a traditional watch band. I could not find one that could be used as a stand alone phone. So we’ve still going to use this one.InternetDoesn’t work. Thank goodness because we don’t want that feature accessed at our 10 year old son’s fingertips. The Internet says...”Connecting” but never connects.ServiceEh-service doesn’t always stay solidly stable in the house...T-Mobile, but it’s not need in the house. Again, it’s mainly used outside of the house to communicate with our son to confirm pickups and if any plans have changed, etc... the smartwatch has been serving its purpose. Before you buy the GSM mobile SIM card of your choice, you can go online to see what the coverage will be.BluetoothI did eventually connect it with my cell phone just to see how it would be in case I want one for myself. It’s aight: It rings my calls; I can answer/receive my calls; I can send/receive text... but the other features elude me. I have to download some app and I’m not doing that. So for what I’ve paid for this smartwatch, it’s aight—it’s not great, it’s not awesome, it will do for the price.Overall, this smartwatch has been a good work around so we don’t have to buy our 10 year old son a traditional “cell” phone that has all the bells, whistles and Internet. This smartwatch will do with none of those distractions as a stand alone phone.

Good buy so far
Pretty good watch so far. Connected quickly to my phone threw bluetooth. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is between having a sim card or not but I do not have one and the watch is working for the things I need it to like calling and messaging. I'm just letting those of you who dont want to purchase a sim card know that the watch will still work without it

Very good phone for a child
I bought it for my daughter and really like it. I added a storage card and even a sim card and it works flawlessly. The touch screen accuracy is good for the money. Keep your expectations on the level you are paying. But i am happy with the purchase

Don't waste your money
This screen on this watch shattered within 48 hours of ownership!! It was not hit against anything or abused, I didn't have it long enough to do either. I contacted Amazon and was told that I could NOT have a replacement. They gave me a credit for maybe half of what I paid which was not good enough, but what can you do??? I know it's not an Apple watch but it should be sturdier than a Dollar Store item.. Very disappointed

Gifts suitable for children
This is a watch that I gave to my daughter. Of course, this field is a mobile phone. In order to facilitate me to contact her, I must buy a sim card. So that I can find her at any time. The products are inexpensive and worth buying. My daughter likes it very much.

Had issues with the watch. But seller was quick to resolve.
I had trouble getting this watch to pick up service. The sd card and SIM card were correctly placed into the watch. The SIM card was correctly activated. And the watch would always say “searching” at the top. The seller was quick to respond to my issue and resolved the problem. So I will give the seller a positive feedback.

Not a perfect gift
This smart watch is pretty good, but its practicality is not good, and it does not match the introduction on its web page. I couldn't make a phone call with it, the pixels of the photo were extremely low, it was not clear at all, and I was very disappointed. I originally bought it for my girlfriend, and she was very happy after receiving it. But she gave it back to me after using it, telling me that this watch is nothing special, and just like ordinary watches, it has no reserved value. Therefore, I do not recommend that you buy this watch as a gift for others. If you need a smart watch, it is better to buy one.

Don't work Dust collector sitting around
Well, it appears that I wasn't quite ready to purchase a smartwatch or this thing is just a piece of junk.. I have watched YouTube videos and everything trying to figure it out. It's a waste of money and more frustrated trying to figure it out. . I am not happy at all. I don't need another dust collector in my jewelry box. I would not recommend repurchasing.. I bought it to use it. If I can't figure it out then it is no good to me. I have bought a SIM card which I can't understand why the smartwatch didn't come with a SIM card in the first place. The SIM card didn't even work..more wasted money purchasing the smartwatch and having to purchase a SIM Card. Buyers Beware! More of a headache to me than useful. It still doesn't work I had it for over a week now. Piece of junk. Don't buy

seller was good when contacted BUT ITEM WAS SO BAD and late!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. this item arrived late and when it finally arrived I tested it as it was intended as a gift. The item kept disconnecting from bluetooth, no noise or vibration when a call came or text. couldnt make a call it was just static on the watch and other person heard nothing. the app it tells you to download to get notifications has negative reviews on playstore and lots of virus warnings (BTwireless) you cant connect to the internet for fb etc unless you insert a sim with data.the majority of the time all i see is a loading screen followed by disconnectedthe sleep monitor is just a timeryou cant change any settings to personalise and the keypad is so small that its very very hard to type.
